MFT4000 series calibrator for voltage, current measurement and simulation, and 24 VDC isolated loop power supply. The VMA0055 is a DC voltage and current measurement and simulation module used with the Meriam MFT4000 series multifunctional tester. The module utilizes the remarkable multifunctional capabilities of DVM and loop calibrator. When used in conjunction with other MFT functions, the VMA/MFT combination provides valuable functionality that is not available on other devices.
The measurement range includes ± 500 mV, ± 55 V, and ± 100 mA. The source function includes 0-24 V and 0-22 mA. When connected to a loop, it can also be used to temporarily provide 24V DC loop power during debugging, interruption, or calibration activities. The VMA module without power devices can also simulate transmitter output.
VMA0055 far exceeds the measurement capability of ± 50 volts/mA of MFT basic units and has its own independent power supply, so is the issue of commonalities a problem.

Intrinsic safety certification from MET laboratory. MET Laboratory is a nationally recognized testing laboratory (NRTL). This module is certified by MET laboratory and meets the standards CSA C22.2 No.1010.1, CSA C22.2 No. 157-92, and UL913 Fifth Edition Rev 2/21/97 for Class I, Division I, Groups A, B, C, and D, T5 Dangerous areas. matters needing attention:
1. The nominal resistance of the current terminal in VMA is 10-15 Ω
2. The output load line is linear
3. The derating of the operating time of high-temperature and high current units is as follows:
-Continuous operation @ 50 ℃ to 20mA
-10 minutes typical @ 50 ° C and 24 milliamps (device will be turned off to prevent thermal damage)
