Several common problems and solutions of V-shaped high-efficiency mixer
Date: 2025-09-29Read: 5
The V-shaped high-efficiency mixer, with its structural design, is widely used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and food, and can achieve uniform mixing of different materials. However, in the long-term use process, some problems are inevitable. Here are several common problems and corresponding solutions:
1、 Uneven mixing
Phenomenon: The layering or mixing effect of materials does not meet the standard.
Reason:
•The design of the stirring blade does not conform to the material characteristics (such as high viscosity or large density differences).
  •Improper setting of mixing speed/time.
•The equipment capacity does not match the material quantity.
Solution:
•Optimize the shape of the stirring blade (such as using a spiral or blade design).
•Determine the optimal speed (usually recommended 60-120rpm) and mixing time through experiments.
•Add liquidity additives or adjust material ratios.
2、 Abnormal vibration of equipment
Phenomenon: Intense vibration accompanied by abnormal noise during operation.
Reason:
•The equipment installation foundation is not firm or the anchor bolts are loose.
•The dynamic balance of the stirring blade has failed.
•Material accumulation leads to eccentric load.
Solution:
•Re calibrate the levelness of the equipment (with an error of<0.5mm/m).
•Use a dynamic balance meter to detect and correct the stirring blade.
•Control the loading amount (it is recommended not to exceed 60% of the volume).
3、 Sealing leakage
Phenomenon: Material leakage or dust overflow at the shaft seal.
Reason:
  •Mechanical seals are aging.
•The sealing surface is worn or the installation is offset.
  •Overpressure operation (>0.1MPa).
Solution:
•Replace the seals made of fluororubber/polytetrafluoroethylene material.
•Adopting a dual end mechanical seal structure.
•Install pressure sensors to achieve overload protection.
4、 Temperature control failure
Phenomenon: The temperature fluctuation during the mixing process exceeds ± 5 ℃.
Reason:
•The cooling/heating system is blocked or leaking.
  •Temperature sensor calibration deviation.
•The exothermic reaction of the material was not exported in a timely manner.
Solution:
•Regularly clean the heat exchange pipeline.
•Adopting PID temperature control system to achieve precise adjustment.
•Increase the cooling area of the jacket or connect it to an external circulation system.
5、 Abnormal increase in energy consumption
Phenomenon: Energy consumption per unit of output increases by more than 15%.
Reason:
•The efficiency of the stirring blade decreases.
•Motor bearings lack oil or winding aging.
•Excessive material viscosity leads to increased resistance.
Solution:
•Replace high-efficiency stirring blades (such as biomimetic design blades).
•Using a variable frequency motor to achieve soft start.
•Pre treatment reduces material viscosity (such as heating or adding dispersants).
