What are the main precautions for using a vacuum centrifugal concentration freeze dryer?
Date: 2025-06-18Read: 5
The vacuum centrifugal concentration freeze dryer continuously pumps air from the sample while it is in a centrifugal state, allowing the solvent in the sample to evaporate rapidly and the sample system to be concentrated quickly. It can also use a low-temperature cold trap to effectively collect the evaporated solvent, and then directly enter the first drying and sublimation stage. When 90% of the material is removed, it begins to heat up for analytical drying to achieve rapid drying of the material. This machine is widely used for solvent removal and freeze-drying of concentrated synthetic compounds of DNA/RNA, nucleosides, proteins, drugs, metabolites, enzymes or similar samples
The precautions for using a vacuum centrifugal concentration freeze dryer mainly include the following aspects:
1. Preparation before operation:
Check the equipment: Ensure that components such as centrifuge tubes, rotors, and sealing rings are intact and undamaged.
Cleaning equipment: Remove residual solvents or samples from the rotor and condensing device to prevent cross contamination.
Check the vacuum system: Ensure that the vacuum pump and related pipelines are working properly, and avoid air leakage that affects concentration efficiency.
Check the condensing system: Ensure that the condensing device and cooling system are working properly to prevent solvent vapor leakage.
2. Sample preparation:
Uniform distribution of samples: Ensure that the samples are evenly distributed in the centrifuge tube to avoid rotor imbalance during centrifugation.
• Control liquid volume: Do not add excessive sample liquid to avoid overflow.
• Choose the appropriate centrifuge tube: Ensure that the centrifuge tube material can withstand the temperature, pressure, and centrifugal force of the equipment.
3. Precautions during operation:
Gradually increase the speed: When starting the equipment, gradually increase the speed to avoid sudden acceleration that may cause impact on the equipment or sample.
Temperature control: Monitor the temperature inside the device to avoid damaging the sample due to excessive temperature.
Vacuum monitoring: Always monitor the vacuum level to ensure that the equipment maintains the set vacuum state.
• Avoid long-term overload operation: To prevent equipment wear and tear, regularly inspect and keep the equipment within the working load range.
4. Safe operation:
• Prevent solvent vapor leakage: Maintain good ventilation when handling volatile solvents to avoid health hazards caused by vapor leakage.
• Avoid sudden shutdown: Ensure stable power supply and smoothly shut down through the safety system in case of abnormalities.
• Prevent high temperatures: Avoid fires or harmful gas releases caused by high temperatures.
4. Cleaning and maintenance after use:
Cleaning equipment: Clean the equipment after use, especially the rotor and condensing device.
