Chinese herbal extract is a common form of traditional Chinese medicine preparation, which has the characteristics of easy oral administration and stable efficacy, and has been widely used in clinical practice. However, during the preparation process of the extract, liquid drugs are prone to spoilage, storage is inconvenient, and the cost of dry powder processing is relatively high. In order to solve this problem, the spray dryer for Chinese herbal extract came into being. The spray drying technology was used to make the extract into powder for convenient storage and use.
Spray drying technology is a process of spraying liquid substances into fine particles through a spray, and then evaporating water under the action of hot air to finally obtain dry particles. The spray drying technology has the characteristics of fast speed, high efficiency, controllable process conditions and so on, so it is widely used in the pharmaceutical field.
Conventional spray drying technologies include single pneumatic spray, compressed air spray, rotary spray and high-pressure spray. Among them, single pneumatic spray is a simple and commonly used spray drying technology, which usually uses compressed air to spray liquid substances from the spray head to form fine particles.
However, this technology is not suitable for spray drying of some traditional Chinese medicines with special requirements because of problems such as spray head blockage and dust generation.
The spray dryer for Chinese herbal extracts is a spray drying equipment designed for the preparation of Chinese herbal extracts. The equipment adopts the rotating blade spray technology to spray the extract material through the high-speed rotating spray disk to form small droplets, and then complete drying under the action of hot air to finally obtain the powdered Chinese herbal extract.
The traditional Chinese medicine extract spray dryer is mainly composed of a feeding system, a rotary spray system, a hot air system, a drying tower, a discharge system, and a dust collection system. The feeding system sends the traditional Chinese medicine extract into the rotary vane spray system, and the rotary vane spray system disperses the extract into small droplets and fully contacts with the hot air in the drying tower. During this process, hot air is heated by a heat exchanger to form a high-temperature and high humidity airflow, which promotes the rapid evaporation of water in the extract material and ultimately forms a powdered Chinese medicine extract. The discharge system transports the dried traditional Chinese medicine extract particles from the drying tower and collects dust through the dust collection system.
