Simple troubleshooting of the Haydn rotary evaporator

1. The vacuum degree cannot reach the set value

When using a rotary evaporator for purification, if problems such as slow distillation speed and low recovery rate are encountered, it may be a vacuum system malfunction. We need to troubleshoot the entire vacuum system.
The enclosed space of a rotary evaporator consists of glass components such as evaporation bottles, evaporation tubes, and condensation tubes, vacuum sealing rings, vacuum buffer bottles, vacuum pumps, and vacuum pipelines. Among them, the key factors affecting the system vacuum are the vacuum pump, sealing rings, and vacuum pipelines.
We need to conduct a thorough inspection of the following components one by one:
(1) Are there any damages to the glass interfaces and air leaks in the interface connections? If there are damages, please replace them in a timely manner. If there is air leakage, it can be improved by applying vacuum silicone grease or replacing the sealing ring at the connection;
(2) Is the sealing ring aging and worn? If so, please replace it promptly;
(3) Check for debris on the surface and internal grooves of the sealing ring. If debris is found, first use a soft bristled brush and ear wash ball to clean the debris on the surface and internal grooves of the sealing ring, and then carefully wipe the sealing ring with a tissue or damp cloth dipped in low concentration ethanol;
(4) Are there any damages or aging in the glass components and vacuum pipelines? If so, please replace them promptly;
(5) Is the vacuum pump working properly? If there are any abnormalities, please check and repair it in a timely manner;
(6) Whether the connection of the vacuum control system is correct can be checked by referring to the instruction manual.

2. Transport lock not removed (error 1, only applicable to electric lift models)

(1) Remove the transportation lock;
(2) Move the lifting device upwards;
(3) Shut down and restart.

3. The cable connection between the control panel and the equipment base is disconnected (error 2 is reported)

(1) Reconnect the cable;
(2) Shut down and restart.

4. Heating malfunction (Error 3)

Check the connection of the heating pot or conduct a test with the same model.

5. Rotation stuttering or stopping (error 5 reported)

(1) Check if the rotation is turned on;
(2) Is the belt aging and worn? If so, please replace it promptly.
