Detailed explanation of the operation method of the water ring pump vacuum unit

1、 Preparation before startup
1. Equipment inspection
Check the fixing condition of the unit, confirm that the anchor bolts are not loose, and install filtering devices (such as 20-40 mesh filters or Y-shaped filters) at the pipeline connections.
Manually rotate for several weeks to verify that the pump body is not stuck or mechanically damaged.
Check the lubricating oil level to ensure that the oil level in the Roots pump oil tank meets the requirements, and connect the cooling pipeline.
2. System water injection
Inject water into the gas water separator and pump body until the drainage outlet overflows, and then close the water injection valve. The liquid level should be maintained at the centerline of the separator level gauge.
Close the intake valve and outlet pressure gauge valve, open the water supply pipeline valve, and adjust the water supply to form a stable liquid ring inside the pump.
2、 Start operation
1. Single pump start (without bypass valve unit)
Start the water ring pump first, wait for its suction pressure to reach the Roots pump start-up threshold (usually around -0.092MPa), and then start the Roots pump.
Observe the vacuum gauge reading and gradually open the intake valve to the fully open position.
2. Dual pump linkage (including bypass valve unit)
Simultaneously start the water ring pump and Roots pump, use the bypass valve to accelerate the system pre pumping, and shorten the time to reach the ultimate vacuum.
After the vacuum degree stabilizes, close the bypass valve and the unit enters normal working state.
3、 Operation control
1. Parameter adjustment
By adjusting the water supply through a spherical valve, the minimum water volume can meet the technical specifications and reduce energy consumption.
Monitor the vacuum gauge and pressure gauge to ensure that the vacuum degree is within the range of -0.092~-0.003 MPa. In case of abnormalities, check for leaks or blockages.
2. Status monitoring
Check the bearing temperature (≤ 60 ℃), vibration, and noise. If any abnormalities are found, stop the machine for maintenance.
Regularly record the motor current, cooling water temperature (≤ 40 ℃), and equipment operating status.
4、 Parking steps
Sequential shutdown
Close the intake valve of the system and cut off the connection with the vacuum system.
Stop the motor, close the water supply valve and cooling water circuit.
The liquid inside the air water separator and pump body should be thoroughly emptied for anti freeze cracking in winter.
5、 Maintenance and upkeep
1. Daily maintenance
Check the packing seal or mechanical seal every week, adjust the tightness of the gland until it seeps out like water droplets.
Clean the bearings quarterly and replace the lubricating oil (at least 3-4 times a year).
2. Regular maintenance
Clean the pipeline filter and pump chamber of foreign objects every year, and check the wear of the impeller.
Verify the insulation resistance of the electrical control cabinet (≥ 10M Ω) to ensure reliable grounding.
6、 Precautions
1. Explosion proof treatment: When extracting flammable/toxic gases, it is necessary to maintain a stable liquid level in the gas water separator to prevent gas leakage.
2. Energy saving optimization: Avoid controlling the vacuum degree by closing the valve, and adjust the water supply to the optimal working condition.
3. Long term shutdown: If it exceeds 24 hours, the liquid should be drained and rust proof oil should be applied to prevent internal corrosion.
