The burst strength tester is mainly used to measure the burst resistance of materials such as paper and cardboard. The operating steps must strictly follow the standard process to ensure testing accuracy and safety. The following is a brief usage method:
1、 Preliminary preparation work
1. Connecting equipment: First, connect the air source (such as the compressed air pipe) to ensure that the pressure gauge pointer is stable within the rated range (usually 3-4 kilograms or half of the dial position), then connect the power and turn on the device.
2. Instrument settings:
Select the testing unit (such as kilopascals, kilogram force, or pounds) and adjust the parameters (such as sample weight and number of layers) through the menu.
Check whether the hydraulic oil (such as silicone oil or glycerin mixture) is sufficient and whether the rubber film is intact.
3. Sample processing: Select a flat and undamaged sample (with a size larger than the chuck area), and adjust it for at least 24 hours in a standard environment (temperature 23 ± 1 ° C, humidity 50 ± 2%).
2、 Core testing steps
1. Place the sample: Lay the sample flat between the upper and lower pressure plates, ensuring sufficient clamping force (not less than 690 kPa) to avoid sliding of the sample or abnormal protrusion of the adhesive film.
2. Start testing:
Press the "Reset" button to reset the monitor, and then click the "Start Test" button.
The instrument pressurizes at a constant rate (such as 95 ml or 175 ml oil delivery rate per minute) until the sample ruptures and automatically records the peak pressure.
3. Repeated testing: The same sample needs to be tested 3-5 times on both sides, and the arithmetic mean is taken as the final result, excluding abnormal data.
4. View and Print: View test data (such as peak and average values) through the menu, press the "Print" button to output the report, and paste it into the sample record.
3、 Precautions
1. Safe operation: Keep away from the pressure plate area during testing to avoid the risk of hand gripping.
2. Calibration and maintenance: Regularly calibrate the accuracy of the instrument with calibration plates (such as aluminum foil), and replace it in a timely manner when the resistance of the adhesive film exceeds the standard.
3. Environmental control: The entire process should be carried out under standard temperature and humidity conditions, otherwise the data may be distorted.
4. Data compliance: Determine whether the results are qualified according to standards such as GB/T 6545 or GB/T 1539.
Proper operation can ensure accurate evaluation of the anti rupture performance of materials during transportation or use.
