Principle of Sealing Tester
By evacuating the vacuum chamber, a pressure difference is generated between the inside and outside of the sample immersed in water, and the gas escape or water infiltration inside the sample is observed to determine the packaging sealing performance of the sample.
test device
1. Sealing tester: in accordance with GB/T15171 regulations, equipped with a vacuum tank (see figure below), the vacuum degree can be controlled between 0kPa~90kPa, the vacuum accuracy is level 1, and the vacuum holding time is within 0.1min~60min.
2. Compressor: Provides positive pressure air, and the air source pressure should be less than or equal to 0.7MPa.

test sample
1. The sample should be a representative soft package containing actual or simulated contents.
2. The samples for the same batch (time) of testing should not be less than 3 packages.
Test steps
1. Open the vacuum tank and inject an appropriate amount of water. The injection amount should be about 10mm higher than the upper side of the porous pressure plate when the sample is placed and the lid is fastened.
2. Turn on the compressor and seal tester, connect the positive pressure air, and set the test parameters of the seal tester: the test vacuum degree is 10kPa ± 1kPa, and the vacuum holding time is 30s.
3. Place the sample into the vacuum chamber, cover the chamber with the lid, and conduct the test.
4. Observe the leakage of the sample during vacuum pumping and vacuum holding, and check for continuous bubble generation. A single isolated bubble is not considered as a sample leak, and bubbles generated by external packaging components during the testing process are not considered as leaks.
Note: As long as the leakage situation of all parts of the samples can be observed during the test, two or more samples can be measured at once.
5. After the experiment is stopped, open the sealing cover, take out the sample, wipe off the water on its surface, and open it to check if there is any test water seeping into the inside of the sample.
6. Repeat steps 3-5, and each sample can be tested for 3 samples.
Evaluation of experimental results
If there are no continuous bubbles generated during the vacuuming and vacuum holding periods of the three samples, and no water infiltrates during the opening inspection, the project is judged to be qualified; If two or more of the three samples are unqualified, the project is judged as unqualified; If one of the three samples is unqualified, the three samples shall be retested. After retesting, if all three samples are qualified, the project shall be judged as qualified, otherwise it shall be judged as unqualified.
The MFY-05 sealing tester independently developed and produced by Jinan Zhongnuo meets the sealing performance testing requirements and methods specified in GB/T15717 standard. It can also be equipped with a micro printer to print test results and retain them for a long time.
