Several common problems and solutions of square cone mixer

Square cone mixer is a novel material mixer widely used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, metallurgy, food, light industry, and feed. This function can mix powders or particles very evenly, achieving optimal results in the mixed material.
The common problems and solutions that may be encountered during the use of the square cone mixer are as follows:
1、 Leakage fault
Leakage of materials will significantly reduce the uniformity of mixing and affect the material ratio. The main reasons include:
Aging or deformation of sealing strip: When the discharge door is closed, the sealing strip cannot tightly adhere to the surroundings and needs to be checked and replaced regularly.
Insufficient cylinder pressure: resulting in loose closure of the discharge door. It is necessary to check whether the air path pressure meets the standard and adjust the cylinder pressure or replace the pneumatic components if necessary.
2、 Bearing overheating and equipment abnormalities
Bearing overheating
Installation issue: If the bearing seat is uneven or the motor rotor is not concentric with the equipment rotor, the machine needs to be stopped and the installation position needs to be recalibrated.
Improper lubrication: If the lubricating oil is excessive, insufficient, or deteriorated, it should be strictly added with qualified lubricating oil according to the standard (occupying 70% -80% of the bearing space) at regular intervals.
Abnormal driving system
When the motor makes abnormal noise or fails to start, it is necessary to check whether the power supply voltage is out of phase, the contact status of the circuit breaker contacts, and eliminate faults in the power grid or the motor itself.
3、 Unloading door opening and closing malfunction
Mechanical blockage: Foreign objects in the material block the discharge door, and the hopper needs to be cleaned and the door track checked.
Hydraulic/pneumatic system abnormality
Check if the hydraulic pump motor is powered, if the solenoid valve coil is powered, adjust the pressure of the relief valve or replace the damaged solenoid directional valve.
The pneumatic unloading valve needs to check the sealing of the air pipe and repair the leakage point.
4、 Air system issues
Frequent start-up of air compressors is usually caused by the following reasons:
Air leakage: Check the interface and air storage tank along the pipeline for air leakage (accompanied by a 'ØØ' sound), tighten or replace the seals.
Pressure relay malfunction: Adjust the differential pressure range of the relay or replace it directly.
5、 Uneven residue of materials
• Incomplete unloading: Optimize the design of the unloading valve (such as using butterfly valves) to ensure a fully open and closed state to reduce dead corner residue.
Improper filling ratio: If the amount of material exceeds 30% of the rated capacity, it can easily affect the mixing effect, and the feeding amount needs to be controlled.
Key points of operation and maintenance
Regular maintenance: Clean the inner wall of the hopper (with a roughness of Ra0.4 μ m) to prevent material adhesion or cross contamination.
Parameter adaptation: Adjust the speed (recommended 30% -40% of the critical speed) and mixing time according to the material characteristics.
Sealing upgrade: When handling volatile materials, inflatable sealing or labyrinth sealing structures are used to enhance sealing.
