The structure of the U-shaped diaphragm valve is simple, and the number of components is relatively small
Date: 2025-07-22Read: 7
The U-shaped diaphragm valve adopts a soft sealing form between the diaphragm and the valve seat, which has excellent sealing performance. Diaphragm is usually made of corrosion-resistant and aging resistant elastic materials, such as rubber, polytetrafluoroethylene, etc., which can tightly adhere to the valve seat surface and effectively prevent medium leakage. Even under harsh working conditions such as high temperature, high pressure, corrosive media, etc., it can maintain good sealing effect and ensure the safe operation of pipeline systems. Due to the diaphragm isolating the medium from other metal components of the valve, the valve body does not need to directly contact the medium, greatly enhancing the corrosion resistance of the valve. For various strong acids, strong alkalis, salt solutions, and corrosive gases, it can work reliably, extending the service life of valves and reducing maintenance and replacement costs caused by corrosion.
The structure design of the U-shaped diaphragm valve is simple, without complex internal chambers and dead corners, and the flow path of the medium inside the valve is simple and direct. This feature gives valves an advantage in industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals that require high hygiene standards. They are easy to clean and disinfect, prevent residual media and bacterial growth, and ensure the hygiene and safety of the production process. Whether it is liquid, gas, or mixed media containing solid particles, U-shaped diaphragm valves can adapt. For some high viscosity, highly corrosive or impurity containing media, diaphragm valves have stronger adaptability and will not cause valve blockage or damage due to the characteristics of the media, providing a reliable solution for the transportation and control of various media in industrial production.
The structure of the U-shaped diaphragm valve is simple, the number of components is relatively small, and the replacement of the diaphragm is relatively easy. When the diaphragm is damaged, only a small number of connecting components need to be disassembled to quickly replace the new diaphragm, without the need for complex disassembly and repair of the entire valve, greatly reducing maintenance workload and downtime, and improving production efficiency. At the same time, due to the diaphragm isolating the interior of the valve from the medium, there is no risk of contamination to personnel and the environment during maintenance.
Measurement steps for U-shaped diaphragm valve:
1. Appearance inspection: Check the valve body, valve cover, valve stem, diaphragm and other components to ensure that there are no defects such as deformation, cracks, corrosion, wear, etc. The surface should be smooth and free of obvious flaws.
2. Dimensional and structural inspection: Use precision measuring tools to measure key dimensions such as valve body thickness, valve stem length, and diaphragm thickness, and check whether the connection dimensions meet the requirements of the design drawings and relevant standards.
3. Sealing performance test
-Airtightness test: Connect the valve to the gas source, pressurize it to the specified pressure, maintain it for a certain period of time, and observe whether the pressure drops to evaluate the sealing performance of the valve in gas medium.
-Leakage testing: When the diaphragm valve is in the closed state, its sealing performance is evaluated by applying pressure and detecting the leakage flow rate. Professional leakage detection equipment or immersion methods can be used for testing.
4. Pressure Capacity Test: Gradually increase the pressure and observe whether the diaphragm valve can withstand the specified rated pressure. Check for deformation, rupture, and other conditions after the pressure reaches a certain value.
5. Valve flow characteristic testing: Adjust the opening of the diaphragm valve, detect and record the flow pressure curve of the diaphragm valve at different flow points, and compare it with the expected theoretical curve to evaluate its flow control performance.
6. Valve opening and closing frequency test: Simulate the opening and closing operations under actual use, detect and record the opening and closing frequency of the diaphragm valve, observe whether there are problems such as jamming and leakage, and evaluate its service life and reliability.
7. Material performance testing: Conduct chemical composition analysis, mechanical performance testing (such as hardness, tensile strength, impact toughness, etc.), metallographic observation, etc. on the main component materials of diaphragm valves to ensure that they meet the material requirements specified in relevant standards.
