Requirements for laboratory ventilation system
Date: 2025-04-28Read: 5

The laboratory ventilation system requires scientific system design and strict construction standards to ensure a safe, efficient, and environmentally friendly laboratory environment. Botai editor will take you to learn about relevant knowledge.

1、 Basic ventilation requirements

1. Airflow direction control

The airflow should flow from the clean area to the contaminated area to prevent cross contamination.

2. Combining natural and mechanical ventilation

Natural ventilation requires sufficient window area and reasonable positioning, as well as installation of protective facilities. Mechanical ventilation should be equipped with fume hoods or exhaust fans according to experimental requirements to ensure timely discharge of harmful gases.

2、 Pressure control requirements

1. Ventilation and air supply linkage

The exhaust fan and the supply fan need to be interlocked for control, with the exhaust fan in the negative pressure area starting first and then closing, and vice versa in the positive pressure area.

2. Negative pressure maintenance

The laboratory needs to maintain certain regulatory requirements to prevent harmful gases from escaping. The pressure gradient needs to be achieved through the layout of air supply and exhaust volume and air vents to ensure the directional flow of pollutants.

3、 Equipment and safety requirements

1. Security protection

The fire resistance level of the laboratory is greater than or equal to level two, equipped with fire-fighting facilities and regularly maintained. The exhaust system needs to be equipped with efficient filtering devices to reduce pollutant emissions.

2. Ventilation equipment configuration

The fume hood should be kept away from areas with frequent personnel flow and fresh air inlet to avoid airflow interference. Local exhaust equipment must cover all hazardous sources and not conflict with comprehensive exhaust.

4、 Maintenance and energy-saving requirements

1. Maintainability

Adopting modular design and anti-corrosion materials to support rapid maintenance. A self-cleaning system can be integrated into the pipeline to reduce maintenance costs.

2. Energy saving measures

Use an intelligent frequency conversion system to adjust air volume according to demand to reduce energy consumption. The supplementary air system needs to be combined with air conditioning supply to dynamically match changes in exhaust volume.

5、 Environmental Protection and Emission Requirements

1. Noise control

The system design needs to reduce noise and avoid secondary pollution. Noise control must comply with industry standards.

2. Waste gas treatment

Pollutants need to be discharged after local harmless treatment, and dry treatment technology is preferred in cold northern regions. The emission standards must comply with industry standards and regulations.
