Maintenance and upkeep of food clean laboratory
Date: 2025-07-16Read: 4
The maintenance and upkeep of food clean laboratories must follow strict procedures to ensure environmental cleanliness and equipment reliability. The core points are as follows:
1、 Maintenance of environmental control system
1. Air conditioning and purification equipment
Filter management: The initial filter should be cleaned every 1-2 weeks and replaced when the resistance reaches 1.5 times the initial value; The medium efficiency filter should be replaced every 3-6 months; The high-efficiency filter is replaced every 2 years or updated when the resistance exceeds twice the design value. It is scanned and leak checked every 6 months to ensure integrity.
Unit maintenance: Calibrate temperature and humidity sensors (with an error of ± 0.5 ℃) and differential pressure gauges (with an error of ± 1Pa) monthly, and check the flexibility of air valves; The surface cooler needs to be emptied in winter to prevent freezing and cracking, and the humidifier needs to be cleaned and replaced with water every week to prevent microbial growth.
Duct cleaning: Check for air leaks and dust accumulation in the ducts every six months, and use robot technology to remove particles from the inner walls of the return/exhaust ducts.
2. Clean area surface maintenance
Daily cleaning: The laboratory bench should be wiped with warm water and mild cleaning agents daily, and strong acid/abrasive products are prohibited; Disinfect the walls and floors with sodium hypochlorite every week (concentration needs to be verified), and follow the 'S-shaped route' to avoid cross contamination during cleaning.
Special treatment: Special cleaning agents are used in oil contaminated areas, and stainless steel purification plates are preferred in corrosive areas (such as ingredient rooms). If corrosion points are found, they should be replaced immediately.
2、 Key equipment maintenance
1. Biosafety equipment
Biosafety cabinet/ultra clean bench: Monthly detection of airflow velocity (≥ 0.4m/s) and filtration efficiency, and quarterly detection of radiation intensity by ultraviolet lamps.
Transfer window/air shower: Check the interlock function daily, clean and disinfect the inner walls weekly.
2. Testing instruments
Precision instruments: Clean the optical components of the spectrophotometer monthly to avoid touching the mirror surface with your hands; The flame system of the atomic absorption spectrometer is checked for gas leaks weekly, and the waste liquid tank is emptied daily.
Quick detection equipment: Clean the sampling probe of the ATP detector after each use, with a calibration cycle of ≤ 3 months; Regularly remove scale from the pesticide residue analyzer reagent tank.
3、 Personnel and operational standards
1. Entry and exit management
Strictly follow the changing process: changing shoes → taking off outerwear → washing hands → wearing clean clothes → hand disinfection → air shower. Sterilization clothes need to be changed every shift in A/B level areas, and gloves should be disinfected every 30 minutes during operation.
Foreign personnel entering require specialized training and are prohibited from carrying personal items such as mobile phones.
2. Health supervision
Daily monitoring of hand hygiene: using a seven step washing method (duration ≥ 20 seconds), disinfection requires soaking in sodium hypochlorite for 15 seconds+spraying with 75% alcohol.
Individuals with respiratory diseases or hand injuries are prohibited from coming into direct contact with the food testing area.
4、 System and Records
1. Document management
Establish and maintain archives: record filter replacement dates, equipment calibration data, and fault handling measures, with a retention period of ≥ 2 years.
Develop an emergency plan: If the high-efficiency filter is damaged, activate the backup purification module and restore cleanliness within 48 hours.
2. Periodic verification
Annual comprehensive testing: covering air supply volume, air exchange rate, and microbial concentration (such as settling bacteria ≤ 1CFU/dish), to ensure compliance with GB 50073 or ISO 14644 standards.
Quarterly simulated pollution testing: Verify self purification capability using an aerosol generator.
5、 Special industry requirements: Food laboratories still need to comply with
1. Daily food pesticide residue rapid testing and tableware ATP testing (threshold ≤ 30RLU);
2. Wastewater treatment: Waste liquids containing heavy metals need to be discharged after sulfide precipitation.
Regular maintenance can extend the lifespan of equipment and reduce the risk of microbial contamination.
