Electrical resistivity is a physical quantity used to represent the resistance characteristics of various substances. The resistance of a wire made of a certain material that is 1 meter long and has a cross-sectional area of 1 square millimeter is called the electrical resistivity of this material. In the International System of Units, electrical resistivity
The unit is ohms per meter, and the commonly used unit is ohms per square millimeter per meter. Electrical resistivity testing has become the most important task in our electrical engineering industry. In addition to improving construction safety, it can also ensure the safety of electrical engineering

Test method for electrical resistivity of insulation materials
Insulation materials refer to a type of conductor material that has extremely poor power failure performance and almost no current flow inside, that is, almost non-conductive. Common insulation materials include glass, plastic, dry wood, ceramics, and so on.
Insulating materials are widely used in various fields due to their non-conductive properties. They can solve electrical safety problems and protect us from electric shock and fire disasters caused by improper use of electricity. Conductors with good conductivity
Compared to bulk materials, measuring the resistivity of insulating materials is actually more convenient. Due to their high resistance, their resistivity can also be very high. Generally, their volume resistivity and surface resistivity are basically the same.
The method for measuring the resistivity of insulation materials and the method for measuring the resistivity of conductors are the same. The volume resistivity of the insulator can be obtained by dividing the total resistance by the volume of the insulator, and the total resistance can be divided by the volume of the insulator
The surface area can be used to obtain the surface resistivity of the insulator. Alternatively, we can use specialized resistivity testing tools for testing.
