Valve positioner is a key accessory for regulating valves, used to improve valve positioning accuracy, response speed, and adaptability to different working conditions, especially in complex scenarios such as high pressure difference, high temperature, or viscous media.
1、 Usage method
1. Installation steps:
Before installation, it is necessary to ensure that the valve is closed and the cylinder position is aligned with the mechanical zero position to avoid displacement and travel errors.
When fixing the locator, it needs to be installed horizontally and the feedback rod (such as the fork rod) should be adjusted to be tightly connected to the short shaft of the valve stem. The spring should press against the short shaft to ensure detection sensitivity.
Connect the gas source (P is the inlet, P1 is the outlet) and signal line (note the positive and negative poles: terminal 1 is connected to the positive pole, terminal 2 is connected to the negative pole) to avoid wiring errors that may cause equipment failure.
2. Debugging process:
Turn on the gas source (usually adjusted to 3.5-6 kilograms) and input signal (4-20mA), enter manual mode (MAN-PENS), and adjust the valve position (such as 65%) through the up and down keys for preliminary airtightness testing to ensure stable values.
Perform self-tuning: Long press the up button to activate the automatic tuning function, wait for the valve to complete the fully open and fully closed action (3-5 minutes), and the RUN light will flash before ending. Optimize control parameters to reduce travel errors.
Manual calibration option: If automatic calibration fails, switch to manual mode (such as the fifth step of Siemens PS2), gradually save the off and on positions, and then trigger the calibration process to ensure accuracy.
3. Signal operation:
Input 4mA signal corresponding to valve closed position, 20mA corresponding to fully open position; During debugging, it is necessary to input an intermediate value (such as 12mA) to check the consistency of the opening and closing speed, and fine tune the valve response by adjusting the zero screw.
Output signal verification: Compare the input signal with the feedback value (such as 8mA corresponding to 25% opening), and recalibrate if there is a large deviation to avoid control errors.
2、 Precautions
1. Installation Warning:
The angle of the feedback lever must be aligned with the zero position (such as 0% corresponding to the closed position), otherwise it is prone to jamming or setting failure; There is a significant difference in the installation structure between straight stroke and angular stroke locators, and they need to be strictly adjusted according to the model.
When the valve stem and packing are tightly pressed, there is a high friction force, and excessive tightening should be avoided to avoid the risk of leakage, especially in flammable and explosive media.
2. Debugging security:
The limit check (input 4/8/12/16/20mA signal verification position) needs to be completed within 5 minutes after debugging. If it exceeds the time limit, it needs to be reset.
Limit adjustment: If the stroke exceeds the range of the ruler (such as exceeding the stroke at 20mA), manually adjust it to the target position and record the value. Enter the menu to set the limit (step 9 or 10) to avoid mechanical damage.
3. Fault prevention:
The flashing red light indicates insufficient air supply, signal error, or mechanical jamming. It is necessary to immediately investigate the source of the fault and avoid forced operation.
Regular maintenance: Restoring factory settings can clear abnormalities (long press the function key after power failure), but signal debugging needs to be redone; Priority should be given to selecting explosion-proof models with high protection levels in high temperature and high pressure environments.
The correct use of valve positioners requires precise installation, system debugging, and real-time monitoring to ensure reliable control in industrial automation.
