Recently, the SJ-WMSM series water quality micro stations independently developed by Shandong Water Environment Sensing Technology have completed batch deployment at 18 key points in a county in southern Shandong, and have officially been put into normal monitoring work in rivers, reservoirs, and drinking water sources. This batch of equipment, with its lightweight, low-cost, and high-precision characteristics, effectively solves the pain points of difficult point distribution and data lag in grassroots environmental monitoring, achieving comprehensive water quality monitoring.

It is reported that the county previously only had two traditional large-scale monitoring stations around the county seat. Rivers and small reservoirs in remote towns have long been in a "monitoring blind spot", and manual sampling and testing are not only time-consuming and laborious, but also cause data lag and make it difficult to respond quickly to sudden pollution. The water quality micro station deployed this time is suitable for grassroots needs: the weight of a single device is less than 10 kilograms, and there is no need to excavate the foundation. The staff only use ordinary brackets to complete the installation of remote mountainous areas; The monitoring parameters cover the conventional five parameters, total phosphorus, total nitrogen, and chemical oxygen demand, which can comprehensively capture the water quality changes caused by agricultural non-point source pollution, domestic sewage discharge, etc.
Previously, it took at least 3 days to investigate the source of pollution in a river. Now, with real-time data from a micro station, the polluted river section can be identified within 2 hours. "The person in charge of the monitoring department of the county's ecological environment bureau said that the equipment has successfully warned of water quality abnormalities three times within one month of use, and the pollution source has been quickly identified and disposed of through data tracing. In addition, the cloud platform equipped on the device supports automatic generation of weekly and monthly reports, directly adapting to the needs of environmental protection ledger filling, greatly reducing the reporting burden on grassroots staff.
The technical leader of Water Environment Sensing Technology stated that the core parameters of the water quality micro station that was launched this time have been strictly calibrated and have passed relevant industry certifications. The low-power design and IP66 protection level ensure its stable operation in complex grassroots environments. In the future, we will further optimize the parameter expansion capability and data intelligent analysis function according to the needs of grassroots monitoring, and help more counties connect the 'last mile' of water resource protection. Currently, this series of water quality micro stations has been put into use in grassroots environmental protection systems in multiple provinces across the country.
