Recently, the SJ-SW5 integrated hydrological monitoring station independently developed by Shandong Water Environment Sensing Technology has completed normalized operation evaluation in multiple key sections of the Huai River Basin.

It is understood that the hydrological monitoring station put into use in the Huai River Basin this time is the core product of water environment sensing technology optimized for flood control needs in the basin. The K-band plane radar technology it carries solves the pain point of the traditional contact monitoring equipment that is vulnerable to the interference of sediment and floating objects. Even in complex water situations such as rainstorm runoff and flood peak transit, it can still stably output water level, flow rate and flow data, and its measurement accuracy is three times higher than that of traditional equipment. The integrated water quality monitoring module of the equipment can also synchronously capture changes in indicators such as pH value and dissolved oxygen, providing data support for water pollution tracing.
Previously, it relied on manual inspection and decentralized monitoring, with data lag of at least 4 hours. Now, the data is updated every 5 minutes, and if there is an alarm, it will be immediately alerted. "The person in charge of a hydrological monitoring center of the Huai River Water Resources Commission said that the low-power design of the equipment is particularly suitable for remote monitoring points. The solar power supply and lithium battery energy storage solution can achieve uninterrupted operation throughout the year, and it can still work stably for 45 consecutive rainy days, greatly reducing operation and maintenance costs. At present, 23 hydrological monitoring stations have been deployed in the basin, building a fully covered water monitoring network with a data accuracy rate of 99.3%.
The Technical Director of Water Environment Sensing Technology introduced that this series of hydrological monitoring stations has passed the product certification of the Ministry of Water Resources, with a core component life of over 8 years and a 50% reduction in full life cycle costs. In addition to the Huai River Basin, it is also widely used in complex scenarios such as the freeze-thaw zone in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, tributaries of the Yangtze River, and the southern Meiyu area, providing support for water management in 25 provinces and cities across the country. In the future, the company will further optimize the AI water situation prediction algorithm, improve the warning accuracy under special weather conditions, and help build a more resilient hydrological security defense line.
