High pressure ball valve is a ball valve designed specifically to withstand high pressure conditions, with its structure and performance optimized around the core requirement of "high pressure tolerance" while retaining the basic advantages of ball valves. The following are its main characteristics:
1. Voltage resistance, adaptable to high voltage environments
-The design pressure is usually ≥ 10MPa (PN100 and above), and some models can withstand ultra-high pressure (such as 100MPa and above), widely used in high-pressure pipeline systems (such as oil and gas extraction, high-pressure hydraulic, chemical high-pressure reaction devices, etc.).
-The core components such as valve body and valve stem are made of high-strength materials, such as forged steel (A105, F22), stainless steel (316, 304), alloy structural steel (chromium molybdenum steel), etc. The material density is improved through forging process (rather than casting) to avoid fracture caused by structural defects under high pressure.
2. Reliable sealing and resistance to high-pressure leakage
-Sealing structure optimized for high pressure: Small caliber high-pressure ball valves often use metal hard seals (the ball and valve seat are precision matched with metal, such as welded hard alloy), which use trace deformation of the metal contact surface to achieve sealing and can withstand medium erosion and compression under high pressure; Enhanced elastic seals (such as filled PTFE or metal coated rubber) can also be used in some low-pressure and high-pressure scenarios, balancing sealing and high pressure resistance.
-The valve stem seal adopts a multi-stage packing structure (such as V-shaped combination packing and corrugated pipe seal) to prevent high-pressure medium from leaking from the gap between the valve stem and the valve body, ensuring the reliability of the shaft seal.
3. Operation design adapted to high-pressure working conditions
-Under high pressure, the friction between the ball and the valve seat increases, and the opening and closing torque is much greater than that of ordinary ball valves. Therefore, it is usually equipped with power transmission devices such as turbine reducers, gearboxes, etc., or directly using pneumatic/electric actuators to reduce the difficulty of manual operation and ensure smooth opening and closing.
-The connection strength between the handle or actuator and the valve stem is high, which avoids component deformation or fracture during operation under high pressure.
