Characteristics of High Pressure Ball Valve - Part 2
Date: 2025-07-31Read: 9

High pressure ball valve is a ball valve designed specifically to withstand high pressure conditions, with its structure and performance optimized around the core requirement of "high pressure tolerance" while retaining the basic advantages of ball valves. The following are its main characteristics:

1. Excellent circulation performance and low energy consumption

-Maintaining the core advantage of the "straight through channel" of ball valves, the flow resistance when the medium flows through is small (local resistance coefficient close to 1), far lower than that of globe valves, gate valves, etc. Especially in high-pressure systems, it can significantly reduce pressure drop losses and reduce energy consumption of power equipment such as pumps and compressors.

-The inner wall of the channel is smooth, reducing the erosion and wear of the valve body by high-pressure media and extending its service life.

2. Compact structure and strong impact resistance

-The valve body design is compact, and the wall thickness increases according to the pressure rating (for example, the wall thickness of PN160 valve body is several times that of PN16), but the overall volume is still smaller than that of gate valves and globe valves of the same pressure rating, saving installation space.

-Good anti vibration and anti impact performance, suitable for fluid pulsation or mechanical vibration scenarios that may exist in high-pressure pipelines (such as high-pressure pump outlets and compressor pipelines).

3. Wide applicability, suitable for complex media

-Strong medium compatibility, suitable for transporting high-pressure water, crude oil, natural gas, hydraulic oil, steam, corrosive chemicals, etc. (depending on the material selection, stainless steel is suitable for corrosive media, forged steel is suitable for oil and gas).

-Wide temperature adaptability range: Metal sealing models can withstand temperatures ranging from -200 ℃ to 600 ℃ (such as low-temperature and high-pressure LNG pipelines, high-temperature and high-pressure steam systems), while elastic sealing models are suitable for medium to low-temperature and high-pressure scenarios.
