The anti-static and dustproof performance of cleanroom workwear is a key indicator to ensure the cleanliness of the production environment, prevent product contamination, and prevent process failure. The following are the testing methods, validation standards, and practical considerations for these two performance indicators:
1、 Testing and Verification of Anti static Performance of Cleanroom Work Clothes
1. Test purpose
Prevent static electricity accumulation: Avoid damage to precision electronic components, drugs, or microbial agents caused by electrostatic discharge (ESD).
Reduce dust adsorption: Static electricity can adsorb particles in the air, affecting cleanliness.
2. Key testing indicators
Surface Resistance: Measuring the surface conductivity of a material, the lower the value, the stronger the anti-static ability.
Friction Voltage: Simulate the electrostatic voltage generated during wearing or operation.
Charge Decay Time: The time required for static electricity to dissipate to a safe level.
3. Verification process
Sample preparation:
Work clothes need to be cleaned and dried before testing to avoid residual detergents affecting the results.
Randomly select 3-5 pieces of clothing from the same batch, test each piece 3 times, and take the average value.
Environmental control:
Temperature (23 ± 2) ℃, humidity (50 ± 5)% RH, in compliance with GB/T 2424.1 standard.
Data recording:
Record test values and compare them with internal enterprise standards
4. Common problems and improvements
Problem: The surface resistance is too high.
Reason: The fabric does not contain conductive fibers or fibers may fall off due to washing.
Improvement: Choose conductive fabrics embedded with carbon fiber or metal wire and limit the number of washes.
Problem: Friction voltage exceeds the standard.
Improvement: Add anti-static agent spraying or switch to polyester cotton blended fabric.
2、 Dust proof performance testing and verification of cleanroom workwear
1. Test purpose
Prevent particle detachment: Avoid the work clothes themselves releasing fibers and dust to pollute the environment (such as in pharmaceutical factories and semiconductor workshops).
Blocking external particles: Verify the barrier effect of the fabric on suspended particles in the air.
2. Key testing indicators
Lint Shed: The number of fibers and particles shed from work clothes during specified movements.
Filtration Efficiency: The ability to block particles of a specific size.
Air Permeability: Maintaining wearing comfort while ensuring dust prevention.
3. Verification process
Dust emission test:
Put the work clothes into the sealed drum and flip them at low speed for 30 minutes to collect the falling particles.
Use a laser particle counter to count the number of particles ≥ 5 μ m.
Filtering efficiency test:
Simulate air particles with NaCl aerosol or DEHS mist to test the fabric's interception rate of 0.3-5 μ m particles.
Comprehensive evaluation:
Select appropriate fabrics based on the cleanroom grade requirements.
