According to research results, the main reason for this phenomenon is that P-type boron doped silicon wafers produce boron oxygen and boron iron complexes under illumination, which reduces the lifetime of their minority carriers and leads to a decrease in the power of solar cells. Due to the variability of initial photoinduced attenuation in solar cells, solar cells with the same electrical performance within the same photovoltaic module may experience significant differences in electrical performance after photoinduced attenuation, leading to abnormal output curves and hot spot phenomena, and even early failure of the photovoltaic module. Therefore, conducting initial photoinduced attenuation testing on solar cells before packaging them into photovoltaic modules, and pre attenuating solar cells with larger attenuation amplitudes, is one of the important measures to ensure product performance and quality and avoid customer losses.
