Working principle and advantages of low-temperature vacuum spray dryer
Date: 2025-03-06Read: 9
The working principle of the low-temperature vacuum spray dryer mainly includes the following key steps:
1. Atomization process: The liquid or slurry material to be dried is transported to the atomizer through a high-pressure pump or peristaltic pump and dispersed into tiny droplets. The purpose of atomization is to increase the surface area of the material, thereby accelerating the drying process.
2. Drying process: The atomized droplets enter the vacuum drying chamber, and the vacuum system reduces the pressure inside the drying chamber. As a result, the boiling point of water decreases, allowing for rapid drying at lower temperatures. After passing through the filter and heater, the hot air enters the drying chamber and comes into contact with the atomized droplets, transferring heat to the droplets and causing the surface moisture of the droplets to evaporate rapidly. The air flow rate and temperature in the drying room can affect the drying time, and optimizing these parameters can achieve the best drying effect.
3. Collection process: The dried solid particles are separated from the hot air flow and collected through a collector. The function of the collector is to prevent solid particles from entering the next drying chamber, while ensuring the purity and quality of the dried product.
4. Application of condensation system (part of equipment): some low-temperature vacuum spray dryers are also equipped with condensation systems. During the drying process, the water and other volatile components in the droplets will evaporate, forming water vapor and other volatile gases. The condensation system can cool and condense these evaporated gases into liquid, thereby achieving gas recovery and treatment.

The advantages of the low-temperature vacuum spray dryer include:
1. Fast drying speed: Due to the large surface area and evaporation area of the droplets, the drying speed is fast.
2. Active ingredient retention: Drying under vacuum conditions can lower the temperature of the material, reduce the loss of thermosensitive substances, and retain its active ingredients.
3. Low energy consumption: The device fully utilizes the latent heat of hot air, reducing energy consumption.
4. Environmental protection and energy conservation: There is no wastewater or exhaust gas discharge during the operation of the equipment, which meets environmental protection requirements.
These characteristics make low-temperature vacuum spray dryer have broad application prospects in many fields.
