The process principle of pill polishing machine

The process principle of tablet polishing machine is mainly based on the combination of mechanical friction, material polishing, and hot air drying, which can be divided into the following steps:
1、 Rolling and friction grinding of pills
Rotary drive: The pot body is driven clockwise by an electric motor, and the tablets move along the pot wall in a parabolic curve under centrifugal force, producing continuous rolling, sliding, and friction.
Uniform coverage: manually or mechanically pour sugar coating powder or insect wax and other polishing agents, and continuously rotate to evenly distribute the material on the surface of the tablet, forming a smooth coverage layer.
2、 Hot air drying and shaping
Moisture removal: During the grinding process, hot air is introduced into the pot to accelerate the evaporation of the surface moisture of the tablets, prevent adhesion, and promote the curing of the coating or polishing agent.
Surface polishing: Polishing agents such as insect wax melt under friction and hot air, filling the micropores on the surface of the tablet and forming a dense and bright layer, which also has moisture-proof function.
3、 Key points of process control
Stable linear speed: The rotational speed of the pot body needs to be kept constant to ensure that the trajectory of the tablets is consistent and avoid pockmarks or uneven thickness.
Temperature control: The temperature of the hot air needs to be adjusted according to the characteristics of the material. If it is too high, it may affect the composition of the tablets, while if it is too low, it may prolong the drying time.
4、 Application extension
This process is not only applicable to the pharmaceutical industry (sugar coated tablets, pills), but also to food (chocolate polishing, soup ball rolling), chemical industry (catalyst ball polishing) and other fields.
Note: Polishing and coating are often completed in stages in the same equipment. Polishing is usually carried out after the coating layer has dried to enhance the appearance and functionality of the final product.
