1、 Preparation before operation
1. Environmental and equipment inspection
Ensure that the equipment is installed in a well ventilated area with no direct sunlight and a flat ground. Leave at least 50cm of maintenance space around to avoid high temperature or humid environments affecting operational stability;
Before starting, it is necessary to verify the pre-treatment water quality (conductivity<200 μ S/cm, turbidity<1NTU), check the sealing of pipelines and valves to prevent water leakage or pollution infiltration.
2. Power supply and system initialization
Use a regulated power supply or UPS to ensure voltage stability (compatible with 220V/50Hz standard) and avoid damage to high-voltage pumps or controllers due to voltage fluctuations;
The first startup requires powering on in the order of pre-processing → reverse osmosis → EDI/ultra purification module, and executing the filter flushing process (discharging 2-3L of water).
2、 Operating standards for operation
1. Water intake and water quality management
Before taking water, rinse the terminal pipeline with 1-2L to eliminate overnight pollutants. For high-precision experiments (such as HPLC), ultrapure water (resistivity ≥ 18.2M Ω· cm, TOC ≤ 5ppb) is preferred;
Real time monitoring of parameters such as resistivity and TOC displayed on the control panel, and immediate shutdown to investigate membrane fouling or consumable failure issues in case of abnormalities.
2. Operational parameter control
Maintain a reverse osmosis inlet pressure of ≥ 0.2MPa and a high-pressure pump pressure of 7-12MPa to avoid a decrease in desalination rate of membrane components due to insufficient or excessive pressure;
Prioritize low-pressure operation mode to reduce membrane flux attenuation, and control the recovery rate between 60% -80% to balance water quality and wastewater discharge.
3、 Maintenance and upkeep requirements
1. Consumables replacement and cleaning
The activated carbon filter element is forced to be replaced every 12 months, the softened resin is regenerated every 2 days, and the regeneration cycle for hard water areas is shortened to daily execution;
The reverse osmosis membrane is cleaned alternately with citric acid and NaOH every quarter. When the water production decreases by 10% or the desalination rate decreases by 5%, a new membrane needs to be replaced.
2. Storage system and disinfection
Pure water storage tanks undergo weekly pasteurization (cycling at 80 ℃ for 30 minutes), while ultrapure water storage tanks undergo daily high-temperature sterilization to prevent microbial growth;
When it is not in use for a long time, the water tank should be emptied and 1% sodium bisulfite protective solution should be injected. The inlet valve should be closed and the power should be cut off.
4、 Compliance management
1. Recording and Verification
Record operating parameters (pressure, conductivity, flow rate, etc.) every hour and keep complete logs for at least 3 years for GLP audit verification;
Conduct comprehensive water quality testing (including microbiological and endotoxin indicators) every quarter, compare GLP/GMP certification standards, and update validation reports.
2. Material and design compliance
Water contact components must be made of 316L stainless steel or PFA material, and PVC pipes containing plasticizers are prohibited to ensure easy disassembly of the structure;
The alarm system needs to be linked with the central monitoring platform of the laboratory to provide real-time reminders of water quality abnormalities or consumables replacement.
