Reverse osmosis purification water equipment is an important water treatment tool in modern laboratories and industrial fields. Its core function is to remove ions, microorganisms, and organic matter from water through reverse osmosis technology, and produce high-purity water quality. To ensure efficient and stable operation of the equipment, extend its service life, and ensure water quality safety, the following are key usage precautions.
1、 Water Quality Management: Pre treatment and Parameter Control
Pre treatment cannot be ignored: the incoming water must undergo pre-treatment steps such as sand filtration and activated carbon adsorption to effectively remove suspended solids, organic matter, and residual chlorine. If the pre-treatment is insufficient, impurities will deposit on the surface of the reverse osmosis membrane, causing membrane blockage and reducing equipment performance and service life.
Monitoring of water quality parameters: Regularly check the pH value of the incoming water and maintain it within the appropriate range of 4-11 to avoid membrane hydrolysis or fouling. At the same time, control the TDS value within a reasonable range to prevent excessive TDS from increasing membrane working pressure and affecting filtration efficiency.
2、 Operating Specification: Pressure and Temperature Management
Pressure stability is crucial: reverse osmosis membranes need to operate at suitable pressures, with low-pressure membranes ranging from 1-10 bar and high-pressure membranes reaching several tens of bar. Excessive pressure can damage membrane components, while insufficient pressure can lead to insufficient water production. Real time monitoring through a pressure gauge is required during operation to ensure that the pressure remains stable within the required range of the equipment.
Temperature control affects efficiency: The operating temperature of the equipment should be controlled between 5-45 ℃. Excessive temperature will reduce desalination rate, while insufficient temperature will decrease water production. In winter or high temperature environments, measures should be taken to regulate the inlet water temperature to avoid affecting equipment performance due to temperature fluctuations.
3、 Membrane protection: pollution prevention and shutdown treatment
Anti pollution measures: Regularly clean the membrane surface to prevent inorganic precipitation, organic adsorption, and microbial growth. The cleaning cycle depends on the water quality and equipment operation, usually combining chemical and physical cleaning methods to keep the membrane components clean.
Long term shutdown treatment: When shutting down, soak the membrane components in 0.5% -1% sodium bisulfite or formaldehyde solution to prevent bacterial growth. Short term shutdown requires low-pressure flushing to avoid silicon dioxide precipitation; Long term shutdown requires chemical cleaning and sterilization treatment to ensure stable performance when the equipment is restarted.
4、 Daily maintenance: filter and equipment inspection
Timely replacement of filter element: Pre filter elements such as PP cotton and activated carbon need to be replaced regularly to prevent a decrease in filtration efficiency. When the pressure difference of the precision filter exceeds the normal value, the filter element should be replaced in a timely manner to avoid particle contamination of the membrane element.
Equipment comprehensive inspection: Check the appearance of the equipment daily to see if there are any loose or leaking components. Pay attention to parameters such as pressure and flow during operation. If there are any abnormal fluctuations, immediately investigate the cause. Meanwhile, pay attention to the sound of the equipment, as abnormal sounds may indicate potential malfunctions.
5、 Emergency Response: Problem Identification and Response
Differential pressure alarm handling: When the water production decreases or the differential pressure significantly increases, immediately clean the membrane components to prevent membrane fouling from worsening. The pressure difference problem may be caused by abnormal water supply flow or membrane surface contamination, and it is necessary to adjust the flow rate or clean it in a timely manner.
Concentrated water ratio control: Maintain the recovery rate within a reasonable range to avoid scaling caused by high concentration of slightly soluble salts in concentrated water, or waste of water resources caused by low recovery rate. By adjusting the concentration of water, economic operation can be achieved.
The efficient operation of reverse osmosis purified water equipment relies on strict water quality management, operating standards, membrane protection, daily maintenance, and emergency response. Users should have a deep understanding of the working principle of the equipment, establish a comprehensive maintenance system, and achieve a focus on prevention and timely response. By standardizing operations and regular maintenance, the lifespan of equipment can be significantly extended, ensuring water quality safety and providing reliable support for laboratory and industrial applications.
