As a commonly used mixing equipment in industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, and chemicals, V-type mixers may encounter various problems during use. Here are several typical fault phenomena and their solutions to help users quickly troubleshoot and restore normal device operation.
1、 Uneven mixing
Problem manifestation: Layered or locally inconsistent composition of materials after mixing.
Possible reasons:
1. Excessive differences in material density or particle size can lead to centrifugal separation.
2. Insufficient mixing time or unreasonable speed setting.
3. The residue inside the equipment has not been cleaned thoroughly, which affects the mixing effect of the new batch.
Solution:
Materials with significant density differences can be pre mixed or the feeding sequence can be adjusted in advance.
Extend the mixing time or increase the speed appropriately (within the allowable range of the equipment).
Thoroughly clean the mixing drum after each batch of use to avoid cross contamination.
2、 Excessive vibration during equipment operation
Problem manifestation: The machine shakes significantly or makes abnormal noise during operation.
Possible reasons:
1. Bearing wear or insufficient lubrication.
2. Loose or aged transmission belt.
3. The equipment base is not firmly fixed or the ground is uneven.
4. The loading capacity of the material in the mixing drum exceeds the rated capacity (overload).
Solution:
Check the condition of the bearings and add or replace lubricating grease (it is recommended to use high-temperature resistant lithium grease).
Adjust the belt tension or replace the belt with a new one.
Strengthen the anchor bolts to ensure that the equipment is installed horizontally.
Strictly control the loading amount.
3、 Leakage at the sealing location
Problem manifestation: Powder or liquid leakage occurs at the shaft seal or cylinder interface.
Possible reasons:
1. The sealing ring is aging or worn.
2. There are impurities on the sealing surface or the installation is not in place.
3. The internal pressure of the equipment is too high (such as when mixing volatile solvents).
Solution:
Regularly replace the sealing ring (it is recommended to check it every 6-12 months).
Clean the sealing surface and reinstall it to ensure even clamping force.
For volatile materials, pressure relief valves can be installed or the mixing speed can be reduced.
4、 Motor overheating or tripping
Problem manifestation: Abnormal increase in motor temperature or frequent triggering of protection switches.
Possible reasons:
1. Voltage instability or motor overload operation.
2. Cooling fan malfunction or poor ventilation.
3. The motor bearings are short of oil or the windings are short circuited.
Solution:
Check if the power supply voltage is stable to avoid prolonged overload operation.
Clean the motor heat dissipation holes to ensure smooth ventilation around.
Contact a professional electrician to test the insulation resistance and bearing condition of the motor.
5、 Difficulty in discharging materials
Problem manifestation: Material blockage or excessive residue at the discharge outlet.
Possible reasons:
1. The high humidity of the material leads to clumping.
2. The discharge valve is not fully opened or the cylinder pressure is insufficient.
3. There is material adhesion on the inner wall or discharge port of the cylinder.
Solution:
For materials that are prone to moisture absorption, it is necessary to control the environmental humidity or add anti caking agents.
Check if pneumatic components (such as cylinders, solenoid valves) are working properly.
Install vibrators or use fluororesin coating on the inner wall to reduce adhesion.
