As an important component of chemical equipment, the safety of emulsion tanks is directly related to production efficiency and personnel safety. Emulsifying tanks are mainly used to mix and emulsify two or more immiscible liquids to form a uniformly dispersed emulsion. However, due to the involvement of multiple chemical reactions and physical processes during use, there are certain safety hazards. Therefore, it is particularly important to standardize operations and take necessary preventive measures.
1、 Basic composition and working principle
Emulsification tanks are usually composed of a tank body, a stirrer, a heater, a vacuum pump, a control system, and other components. The tank is used to contain reaction materials, the mixer mixes the materials evenly by rotation, the heater provides the required temperature conditions, the vacuum pump is used to remove bubbles and odors from the materials, and the control system is used to monitor and adjust the operating parameters of the equipment.
Its working principle is to mix and emulsify materials inside the tank through the rotation of the mixer and the heating of the heater. The function of a mixer is to disperse and mix materials evenly, while a heater provides suitable temperature conditions to promote chemical reactions. Under the action of stirring and heating, the material gradually emulsifies, forming a uniformly dispersed emulsion.
2、 Operating standards
In order to ensure the safe operation of the emulsion tank, the following operating procedures must be strictly followed:
1. Preliminary preparation
Before use, it is necessary to clarify the specifications and purpose, operating steps and precautions, and check whether the safety facilities are complete. In addition, regular inspections are required to ensure that manual valves, joints, bearings, and other components can operate normally and avoid malfunctions.
2. Operation steps
Power on: After ensuring that the power connection is normal, start according to the requirements of the device manual.
Adjust parameters: Set mixing speed, heating temperature and other parameters according to production needs, and ensure that each parameter is within the appropriate range.
Feeding operation: While stirring, add the prepared materials in sequence to the emulsifying tank. Pay attention to control the feeding speed to avoid material splashing or excessive foam.
Emulsification process: Under the action of stirring and heating, the material gradually undergoes emulsification. During this process, close attention should be paid to the material status to ensure even emulsification.
Vacuum operation: When the material is emulsified to a certain degree, turn on the vacuum pump to perform vacuum degassing operation to remove bubbles and odors from the material.
Sampling and testing: During the emulsification process, timely sampling and testing are carried out to ensure that the product quality meets the standard requirements.
3. Precautions for operation
When operating, it is necessary to wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, work shoes, masks, etc., to ensure a clean and hygienic operating environment. If there is contamination, it should be cleaned up in a timely manner to avoid contaminating the product.
The operator should clearly identify the buttons and positions for starting and stopping the machine in order to promptly cut off the power supply.
Do not use the hand lever to directly flip the mixer to avoid affecting its service life.
During the operation, it should be ensured that the emulsification tank is fixed in the correct position to avoid the danger of rolling or tilting.
After the machine stops running, the power should be cut off, the equipment should be cleaned, and the manual valve should be tightly closed to ensure the vacuum inside the tank.
Operators should undergo training and possess relevant operational experience and skill certificates.
3、 Safety hazards and preventive measures
There are various safety hazards in the use of emulsion tanks, and corresponding preventive measures must be taken to ensure the safety of equipment and personnel.
1. Pressure increase and decrease adjustment
During use, the pressure inside the reaction chamber will continuously increase due to the reaction of reactants. If the pressure is too high and not adjusted and depressurized in a timely manner, it can pose a threat to the safe operation of the equipment, and in severe cases may even lead to explosion accidents. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly check and adjust the pressure of the emulsification tank to ensure that it operates within a safe range.
Preventive measures:
Regularly check the pressure gauge and pressure control system to ensure their normal operation.
According to production needs, set reasonable upper and lower pressure limits to avoid excessive or insufficient pressure.
When the pressure rises, take timely measures to reduce it, such as opening the vent valve or adjusting the heating temperature.
2. Static electricity accumulation and protection
There are usually many conductive substances inside the emulsification tank, such as chemicals, oils, etc. When these substances rub or shear, they become charged, causing static electricity to accumulate. If the energy of static electricity reaches a certain level, it will trigger static sparks, causing fire or explosion accidents. Therefore, effective measures must be taken to prevent the accumulation of static electricity.
Preventive measures:
Install static grounding devices internally to direct static electricity into the ground.
Use anti-static materials to make components for emulsion tanks, reducing the generation of static electricity.
Regularly conduct static electricity testing to ensure the effectiveness of static grounding devices and anti-static materials.
3. Tank oil leakage and leakage treatment
Due to improper operation, equipment aging, and other reasons, the tank may experience oil leakage or leakage. If these chemicals are not handled in a timely manner, they will not only cause pollution to the environment, but also threaten the safety of operators.
Preventive measures:
Regularly check the sealing performance and connecting components to ensure they are intact and undamaged.
Use corrosion-resistant and high-temperature resistant materials to make components for emulsion tanks, extending the service life of the equipment.
When oil leakage or leakage situation is discovered, immediately stop the machine and conduct investigation, and take necessary repair measures.
