Date: 2024-08-19Read: 5
Ethylene oxide sterilization cabinet is a commonly used biomedical laboratory equipment for sterilizing microorganisms while ensuring the aseptic operation of biological products. In order to ensure the safety of operators and the service life of equipment during use, it is necessary to follow scientific safety operating procedures and carry out correct maintenance and upkeep. Today, the editor will introduce the safety operating procedures for ethylene oxide sterilization cabinets.
1. Toxicity of ethylene oxide
Ethylene oxide has certain toxicity to humans and animals, and is carcinogenic. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the following safety precautions during the sterilization process:
(1) Operators need to wear protective clothing and masks.
(2) Smoking or placing electrical appliances in the room is not allowed during the use of the sterilization cabinet.
(3) After the operation is completed, ventilation is required to ensure air circulation in the room.
2. Operation steps of ethylene oxide sterilization cabinet
(1) First, clean the instruments or items to be sterilized and place them in the ethylene oxide sterilization cabinet.
(2) Close the sterilization cabinet door and start the sterilization program after setting parameters such as ethylene oxide concentration, temperature, and humidity.
(3) Wait for a certain period of time to ensure that the ethylene oxide sterilization program is completed, then open the sterilization cabinet door and ventilate.
(4) After ventilation, remove the sterilized instruments or items for subsequent operations and processing.
3. Maintaining the environment inside the sterilization cabinet
(1) During the sterilization process, it is important to maintain the cleanliness and stability of the internal environment of the ethylene oxide sterilization cabinet.
(2) After sterilization, it is necessary to remove the items inside the sterilization cabinet as soon as possible to minimize the damage caused by ethylene oxide to the items.
(3) When the sterilization cabinet is not in use, clean and maintain it in a timely manner to ensure the service life and effectiveness of the equipment.
