How to reduce the interference effect of symmetrical weight results (II)
Date: 2024-11-12Read: 8
previous issue#How to reduce the interference effect of symmetric weight results (Part 1)#We discussed how measuring location and temperature can interfere with weighing. The density of different placement positions varies, and the system deviation caused by heat and cold can affect the weighing results. In this issue, we will continue to discuss what other interference factors exist and how to reduce them to ensure accurate weighing results ..
How adverse air changes can lead to incorrect results
The possible effects of airflow, air buoyancy, and wind force on the results of weighing are often underestimated. These destructive factors mainly occur in outdoor areas, where flowing air (such as in high cylinder warehouses) generates dynamic pressure, making reproducible weighing results more difficult.
Strong winds may also cause lifting force, especially in the case of horizontal tanks, making it difficult to accurately weigh and becoming a major issue. The degree of airflow distortion weighing results also depends on factors such as the shape and size of the tank, the smoothness of the tank surface, and the distance from other high-rise buildings that may produce wind shadows.

In addition to considering the potential negative impacts of weighing results, it is extremely important to design all system components with sufficient elasticity and stability to withstand wind forces when developing outdoor weighing solutions, in order to ensure reliable operation and obtain accurate measurement results. To determine the capacity of the selected weighing sensors, mechanical restraints, and lifting protection components.
Inteco ®/ PR 6203 Weighing Sensor - The upgraded version of Inteco's famous PR 6201 sensor is suitable for many outdoor applications. The FlexLock installation kit from Intico can minimize the impact of motion on weighing results, particularly reducing the negative effects of wind on outdoor weighing processes. This flexible and innovative weighing solution for silos and containers also has a high level of vibration resistance.

  Static electricity and magnetism
Static charges exert a force on the material, scale or weighing sensor being weighed, resulting in severe distortion of the measurement results and decreased repeatability of the measurement results. The magnetic force generated when different magnetic materials meet can also cause such effects.
For many materials, anti-static spray or ionization fan can be used to eliminate static electricity. The magnetic force should be counteracted by keeping the measuring object away from all magnetic or magnetized components or by demagnetizing or shielding the object.

Especially in plastic production, the weighing process often faces challenges in terms of electrostatic charges, which may distort the weighing results.
Static charges can be neutralized by using ionizers in dynamic weighing scales, such as WK+weighing scales: weighing scales combine practical functions, such as shielding caps to prevent airflow and ionizers to minimize charge, with high precision and reliability in weighing. Through this customized solution, Intico is able to neutralize static electricity in plastic components, achieving accurate weighing results in numerous applications.
