In the previous article, we introduced two major misconceptions that should be avoided when testing an automatic weighing scale, as well as how to confirm the repeatability of the weighing scale.(Click to jump to the previous article)
In the next article, we will introduce the second important test before the weighing scale is put into use: accuracy testing.
Accuracy testing
Accuracy compared to known weight
The second test we are going to introduce is also conducted using the tested product, and in addition, a calibrated static scale is required. The resolution of the static scale needs to be consistent with or higher than that of the weighing scale.
This inspection needs to be conducted before, after, and at the end of a batch. Similarly, this test can perform trend analysis for further risk assessment.
Use calibration weights of similar weight to the product to check if the static scale can weigh correctly.
Pass the product through a running weighing scale and place it on a static scale to weigh it. Compare the weight value obtained from the weighing scale with the weight value obtained from the static scale. if itT value with a difference greater than 1/5This weighing scale is no longer applicable.
Repeat this test at least once to confirm the repeatability of the weighing scale.
Table of tolerable error values for pre packaging (T-value)
Taken from OIML R87 Recommendation 2016 Edition
For example, if the rated weight of the product is 200g and the weight displayed on the weighing scale is 200.4g, and the same product is placed on a static scale and the weight displayed is 199.7g, the deviation value can be 0.7g.
According to the T-value table, the T-value of 200g product is 9g, and one-fifth is 1.8g. 0.7g is less than 1.8g, so the weighing scale can be used normally.

Intelligent Program Digital Future
Of course, the above two test benchmarks are the minimum regulatory requirements for a weighing scale. With the continuous advancement of technology, today's weighing scales can achieve higher accuracy.
Taking the Yintaike Velus automatic weighing scale as an example,The built-in product testing function can automatically calculate the correction factorA simple and easy to use program helps customers reduce the initial debugging process, improve the efficiency and accuracy of weight inspection.
