The working principle of the horizontal spiral settling centrifuge is based on the use of centrifugal force and differential to achieve solid-liquid separation. The equipment is mainly composed of a drum, a screw, and a differential. When the mud water mixture enters the drum, the high-speed rotating drum generates strong centrifugal force, causing solid particles with higher specific gravity to deposit on the inner wall of the drum. Due to the different rotational speeds of the spiral and the drum, there is relative motion between the two. This relative motion is used to push the solid phase deposited on the inner wall of the drum towards the slag discharge outlet, while the separated clear liquid is discharged from the other end.
The process principle of horizontal spiral settling centrifuge:
Feeding process: The slurry mixture enters the drum through the feeding pipe. Under the centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotating drum, solid particles with a higher density deposit on the inner wall of the drum.
Separation process: Solid particles deposited on the inner wall of the drum are continuously pushed towards the slag discharge outlet by the spiral blades. The separated clear liquid flows out of the drum through the overflow hole.
The function of the differential: The function of the differential (gearbox) is to create a certain speed difference between the drum and the screw, ensuring effective separation of solid and liquid phases.
Application areas of horizontal spiral settling centrifuge:
The horizontal spiral settling centrifuge is widely used in industries such as chemical, light industry, pharmaceutical, food, and environmental protection. It is suitable for separating suspensions containing solid particles with a particle size greater than 0.005mm and a concentration range of 2-40%. Its compact structure, continuous operation, smooth operation, strong adaptability, high production capacity, and convenient maintenance make it of significant application value in industrial production.
