Figure 1. A hydrothermal reactor that can no longer be opened.
After dozens of experiments, we finally found the correct way to use the reaction kettle. However, we had not studied it carefully before. Follow the steps below to ensure that the lid of the reaction kettle will never fail to open.
Firstly, let's take a look at the components of the reactor, as shown in Figure 2:

Figure 2. Components of a hydrothermal reactor.
The correct installation sequence for reaction vessels:
1. The adjustable top cover and the outer cover of the reactor make up the reactor cover, while the inner cover and the main body of the inner lining make up the inner lining, as shown in the figure:

2. Place the base at the bottom of the reaction vessel, insert the inner lining into the reaction solution, and then place it into the reaction vessel, as shown in the figure:

3. Cover the kettle body and place it on the inner liner cover, as shown in the picture:

4. Tighten the reaction cover onto the reactor body, as shown in the figure:

After the assembly of the reaction kettle is completed, which step is the key to determining whether the lid of the reaction kettle can be opened after the reaction is completed? The key is to cover this reactor!!!
As long as the adjustable top cover and the outer cover of the reactor are not tightened and there is a certain distance left, it can definitely ensure that the reactor can be opened, as shown in the picture:

For safety reasons, it is also necessary to use an iron rod to rotate and tighten the adjustable top cover clockwise, so that it is tightly combined with the inner lining cover, as shown in the picture:

The reaction kettle can generally be opened after the reaction is complete. If it still cannot be opened, you can simply use an iron rod to rotate the adjustable top cover counterclockwise and raise it up a bit (as shown in the figure below) to open the reaction kettle cover.
If you tighten the adjustable top cover and the outer cover of the reactor (as shown in the picture), you will never be able to open the reactor again:

In addition, all parts of the reactor must be regularly cleaned with a brush and clean water to remove dirt from the inner walls. This can ensure the cleanliness of the reactor and its lining, making experiments more comfortable and yielding better results.
