The true density is determined by a gas density meter. We use Accupyc II 1340 and Accupyc II 1345 for measurement, which uses gas displacement technology to determine the volume of the tested sample. Calculate density using the sample weight determined by a balance. This instrument measures the volume of the sample, excluding any voids in bulk powder and any openings in individual particles that allow gas to enter. The internal (closed) porosity is still included in the volume.
This test is usually conducted at room temperature, but it can also be conducted at temperatures specified by the customer within the range of 0C to 50C. Almost any solid sample and some fluid samples can be measured using this technology.

The gas displacement method can accurately measure the volume of materials, using inert gases such as helium and nitrogen as displacement media. Firstly, seal the sample in a sample chamber of known volume, fill the chamber with an appropriate inert gas, and then diffuse into an expanded chamber of known volume. The volume of the sample can be calculated by measuring the pressure before and after gas diffusion. Helium can quickly fill pores with diameters as small as a few angstroms, and only the volume of the solid skeleton affects the displacement volume of the gas. The density can be obtained by dividing the sample mass by this volume.
