Reboiler is often used in conjunction with fractionation tower: Reboiler is a special heat exchanger that can exchange heat and has vaporization space. The material level in the reboiler and the fractionation tower level are at the same height. Provide liquid phase from the bottom of the tower into the reboiler. Usually, 25-30% of the liquid phase is vaporized in the reboiler. The vaporized two-phase flow is sent back to the fractionation tower, and the gas-phase components returning to the tower pass upward through the tray, while the liquid-phase components fall back to the bottom of the tower.

When a horizontal shell and tube evaporator is working, a considerable amount of liquid refrigerant should be installed inside the shell. Usually, the height of its static liquid level is 70% to 80% of the shell diameter, so it is also called a full liquid evaporator. At this time, 1-3 rows of pipes will be exposed to the liquid level. During the boiling process, these tubes will be wetted by the liquid brought up, as it can act as a heating agent. If the night level remains low, the evaporator tubes cannot fully utilize their heat transfer function; On the contrary, if the liquid level remains too high, there is a risk of introducing liquid into the compressor.
