The nWC-KLD series of fully automatic high-temperature instantaneous sterilization equipment for decoction pieces is designed for instantaneous sterilization of 0.5-10cm root and stem medicinal materials, industrial decoction pieces, large or sheet-like materials (excluding animal drugs), spices, and grains. It can effectively preserve the color, aroma, volatile oils, and other active ingredients of the materials.

Traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces are processed from Chinese medicinal materials, and their quality control should be stricter than that of Chinese medicinal materials. However, there is currently no clear regulation on this in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia and processing standards. Especially for those "original decoction pieces" (fruits, seeds, flowers, etc.) that only require simple purification and do not require special treatment, simple purification methods such as removing impurities, sorting, or washing cannot remove microorganisms from the medicinal materials. However, for the decoction pieces processed by heating or adding auxiliary materials, the microbial complexity of the decoction pieces may increase due to the processing of medicinal materials and the introduction of auxiliary materials.
Sterilization operation plays an important role in the production process of traditional Chinese medicine and decoction pieces. The sterilization measures used should not only kill all microorganisms, but also ensure the safety, effectiveness, and stability of the medicinal materials, without affecting the efficacy.
Traditional methods: dry heat sterilization, wet heat sterilization, microwave sterilization, ultraviolet sterilization, ethylene oxide sterilization, Co - γ irradiation sterilization, ethanol steam sterilization, ozone sterilization, ultra-high pressure sterilization, etc.
However, these methods may disrupt the active ingredients of the drug, affecting its therapeutic efficacy; Or there may be radiation or residual organic solvents that affect medication safety; Or it may consume a lot of energy and take a long time, affecting economic benefits. The defects and problems of these methods have a significant impact on the quality of traditional Chinese medicine and its formulations. Sterilization operations not only remove or kill microorganisms, but also ensure the quality stability, therapeutic effect, and medication safety of drugs. Therefore, effective sterilization methods must be selected comprehensively based on the properties and dosage forms of drugs, and sterilization technology must be used reasonably.
