HSA is based on the principle of tuned diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS), which is an infrared single line absorption spectroscopy. The HSA system consists of semiconductor lasers and sensors. The laser beam passes through the headspace of the sample and measures the absorption caused by gas molecules. Laser can be tuned to different wavelengths, allowing measurement of different gases that absorb laser. The amplitude of the measured absorption line is directly proportional to the concentration in the headspace. For oxygen measurement, the laser is tuned to a wavelength of 760 nm. At this wavelength, oxygen molecules absorb laser and their reduction provides information about O2 concentration or O2
