1. Short Time Continuous Boosting: The sample voltage is uniformly boosted from zero at a selected boosting rate until the sample breaks down, and the breakdown voltage is the voltage value at the moment of breakdown.
2. Step by Step: The sample voltage is rapidly boosted from zero to the initial voltage without recording any curves. The RZ2116A voltage breakdown tester is used to stabilize the voltage after reaching the initial voltage, with the gradient time as the time length. After the gradient time is over, the selected boosting rate is continued to increase the voltage until the next gradient voltage value is reached before stabilizing the voltage. This process continues until the sample breaks down. The determination of breakdown voltage can be divided into two situations. If the breakdown of the sample occurs during the boosting process, then the breakdown voltage is a gradient voltage; If breakdown occurs within the gradient time, the breakdown voltage is the voltage at the moment of breakdown.

  Operation steps of voltage breakdown tester
1. Preparation before the experiment:
(1) Turn on the main power switch on the right side of the testing machine and preheat for 15 minutes.
(2) Open the computer and enter the Windows system. Double click the shortcut icon of the software to open the test login interface. Enter the login password to enter the test interface.
2. Switching between AC and DC tests:
The high voltage output is AC voltage. The method of obtaining direct current is to string a high-voltage silicon stack into the original circuit, making the test circuit a pulsating direct current voltage. The implementation process is that the silicon stack is already in the high-voltage insulation tower of the high-voltage transformer, and a short-circuit rod is usually used to short-circuit the high-voltage silicon stack. When a DC test is required, remove the short-circuit rod and connect the high-voltage silicon stack to the test circuit. At this time, the voltage in the circuit is a pulsating DC voltage.

  Precautions for using voltage breakdown tester
  1. During the experiment, unrelated personnel should not be allowed to approach, as this testing instrument can generate high voltage. Untrained personnel should not use the equipment. There should be a supervisor during the experiment, and it should not be used alone to prevent accidents.
2. If the equipment is not used for a long time, before using it again, first let the instrument be pressurized without load for one time, that is, remove the wiring of the high-voltage electrode from the pressure equalizing ball. Check the computer test interface to see if the high voltage is normal.
3. In case of unexpected situations during the experiment, the power should be cut off in a timely manner, and the problem should be resolved before continuing the experiment.
(1) Air circuit breaker protection: The equipment is equipped with a main power air switch to prevent short circuit overload in the test main circuit or control circuit, and to effectively cut off the power supply when overcurrent, overvoltage and other protective measures fail;
(2) Overload and melting protection measures for fuses: The test control circuit is equipped with fuses, which can effectively melt the power supply of the control circuit when a short circuit fault occurs in the control system;
(3) Emergency stop button: The voltage breakdown strength tester is equipped with an emergency stop button, which can quickly and effectively cut off the power supply of the test circuit in case of fire or other dangerous situations;
(4) High voltage warning light: The warning light lights up after closing, indicating the presence of high voltage, and goes out after disconnecting, serving as a warning.
