Nowadays, the cycle of developing new car models in the automotive industry is increasingly shortened. This means that the latest technology must be applied on the basis of existing measurement schemes. Through FalconEye, users can now easily use the Zeiss FalconYenavigator technology previously used on flexible articulated probe mounts.

ZEISS DotScan is the best choice for measuring free-form surfaces and fine structures. ZEISS DotScan uses a color scale confocal white light probe, which is particularly suitable for measuring sensitive, soft, reflective, or low contrast surfaces, as probes or camera sensors have exceeded their capabilities for such surfaces. When using ZEISS DotScan, highly reflective surfaces such as metal parts of knee implants can be scanned without injecting contrast agents. Therefore, using this probe can also distinguish between the transparent painted surface and the underlying metal layer.

ZEISSDotScan has three probe sizes, suitable for three different measurement ranges: 10, 3, and 1mm. The probe can be automatically replaced during a single CNC run to adapt to different surfaces, or replaced with other optical probes. The joint axis can move 2.5 degrees each time, and ZEISSDotScan can be adjusted to be perpendicular to the component to be measured. And since the maximum measurement angle of ZEISS DotScan 1mm is+/-30 degrees, components with larger curvatures can also be measured. In addition, the operation mode of the probe enables various materials to be measured from various angles without any problems. When used in conjunction with a turntable, even 4-axis measurement work is not difficult for ZEISS DotScan.
