Pay attention to graphene exfoliation dispersion and microjet homogenization
New solution for slurry dispersion in manufacturing process upgrade
Graphene, as a carbon material with a unique two-dimensional structure, has shown great potential for applications in energy storage, electronic information, composite functional materials, and other fields due to its excellent electrical, thermal, and mechanical properties, as well as high chemical stability.
However, they are prone to aggregation due to intermolecular forces (van der Waals forces), forming clusters that are difficult to separate, like an uncut sword, greatly reducing their performance. Whether it can be efficiently and uniformly dispersed into the matrix has become a bottleneck restricting its application.
The following provides a detailed comparative analysis of the application of common dispersion process equipment in the preparation of graphene slurry:

Traditional dispersion process
a.High shear disperser
Working principle: Utilizing a high-speed rotating rotor and stator to generate strong shear force, dispersing graphite particles in a liquid medium.
Advantages: The equipment cost is relatively low, the operation is simple, the maintenance is convenient, and it can handle high viscosity slurries;
Disadvantages: Limited shear force, prone to local overheating, affecting the stability of the slurry, wide particle size distribution range, poor uniformity, weak control over the number of graphene layers;
b.ball mill
Working principle: The peeling of graphite is achieved through the collision and friction of grinding media such as ceramic balls and stainless steel balls;
Advantages: capable of batch processing of large amounts of raw materials, simple equipment structure, low operating costs, and strong adaptability to raw materials;
Disadvantages: The grinding process is prone to introducing metal impurities, consumes high energy, has low efficiency, and is difficult to accurately control the number of graphene layers;
c.sand mill
Working principle: Utilizing the high-speed movement of grinding beads within a sealed chamber to generate shear and impact forces;
Advantages: The dispersion efficiency is higher than that of ball mills, and a relatively fine particle size distribution can be obtained, which is suitable for continuous production;
Disadvantages: Grinding media wear can contaminate the product, and equipment maintenance frequency is high;
d.Ultrasonic disperser
Working principle: Utilizing the high-temperature and high-pressure local environment generated by ultrasonic cavitation effect to achieve interlayer exfoliation of graphite;
Advantages: High quality few layer graphene can be prepared with minimal damage to the crystal structure, making it suitable for laboratory scale research;
Disadvantages: High energy consumption, limited processing capacity, unsuitable for large-scale production, severe heat generation, and difficulty in controlling temperature;
In the actual R&D and production process, traditional dispersion technology often encounters problems such as difficulty in balancing efficiency and quality, insufficient control accuracy of key parameters (such as layers, sheet size, defect degree), bottlenecks in industrialization amplification, and insufficient batch stability;
Micro jet ultra-high pressure homogenization, as a dispersion technology, has certain unique advantages in process equipment;
Micro jet dispersion process

The micro jet homogenizer uses ultra-high pressure to force materials to pass through a specially designed channel at high speed, generating shear force, impact force, and cavitation effect, instantly crushing particles to the micro nano level.
Compared with traditional equipment, micro jet homogenizers perform outstandingly in the following aspects:
1. Advantages in Process Accuracy
Accurate layer control: Effective dispersion of 1-10 layers can be achieved by adjusting pressure and cycle times;
Narrow particle size distribution: The particle size distribution coefficient (PDI) can reach below 0.2;
Excellent repeatability: The principle, process, equipment structure characteristics, and intelligent control system can accurately maintain the consistency of peeling/dispersing effects, avoiding batch differences;

2. Product quality advantages
Complete crystal structure: fluid shear force protects the integrity of graphene lattice;
Lower defect density * *: avoids structural damage caused by mechanical collisions;
Better dispersion stability * *: Uniform particle size distribution enhances slurry stability;
3. Production process advantages
Efficient energy utilization: Direct energy conversion methods improve efficiency;
Easy to scale up: significant linear amplification effect, smooth process transfer;
Lower pollution risk: Closed systems reduce external pollution;
Support continuous operation: Adopting a continuous feeding homogenization discharging flow channel design, there is no need for batch intermittent operation, and it can operate stably for 24 hours.
4. Advantages of Green Environmental Protection
The entire process usually uses water as the medium, without the need for large amounts of strong acids, strong bases, or other harmful chemical dispersants, which is more in line with the environmental protection requirements of modern industry;
Through experimental verification, it has been found that the graphene treated by the Nozer microjet homogenizer hasThe effect has solved the original agglomeration problem, and its monolayer rate and dispersion uniformity have been significantly improved.
With the continuous development and application of technology, graphene homogeneous dispersion is gradually moving towards intelligence, refinement, and high efficiency. We will pay more attention to the balance between precision control, quality stability, and cost-effectiveness.
In the field of graphene slurry preparation, ultra-high pressure microjet homogenization and dispersion technology, with its unique technical and application advantages, is becoming an increasingly popular choice, especially in the electronic, energy and other fields that require high quality graphene.
