The core reason for the short heating time of microwave dryer
Date: 2025-11-19Read: 6

The reasons and advantages of microwave dryer for short heating time and high drying efficiency are as follows:

1、 The core reason for the short heating time of microwave dryer
1. Penetrating heating, synchronous heating inside and outside
Microwaves directly act on water molecules inside the material, causing them to vibrate violently and generate heat, achieving rapid heating from the inside out. Traditional drying relies on heat conduction or convection, which gradually penetrates from the surface, while microwave heating does not require preheating and can directly heat the inside of the material when turned on. The heating rate can reach over 500 ℃ per minute, reducing the time by dozens of times.
2. Vacuum environment reduces boiling point and accelerates water evaporation
The microwave vacuum dryer combines microwave and vacuum technology to reduce the boiling point of water to 30-40 ℃ under negative pressure, enabling rapid dehydration of materials at low temperatures.
2、 The technical advantage of high drying efficiency of microwave dryer
1. High thermal efficiency and improved energy utilization efficiency
The energy conversion rate of microwave heating is as high as 80% -90%, and it directly acts on the material, reducing heat conduction loss. The thermal efficiency of traditional heating methods (such as hot air and steam) is only 30% -50%, and there is heat loss carried away by the medium.
Data: Microwave vacuum drying is more energy-efficient than traditional hot air drying by over 40% and produces no oil fumes; Microwave drying equipment can save more than one-third of energy in seafood processing, and its energy-saving effect is more significant compared to oil and coal-fired boilers.
2. Uniform heating to avoid external and internal coke generation
Microwave penetration allows for simultaneous heating of both the inside and outside of the material, with a small temperature difference and uniform heating, avoiding the problem of overheating on the surface of the material while the inside is still wet during conventional heating, and improving the quality of drying.
3. Low temperature drying to protect heat sensitive materials
Microwave vacuum drying is carried out in low temperature (usually below 100 ℃) and low pressure environments to avoid high temperature damage to material structure, especially suitable for rapid drying of heat sensitive materials such as food and medicine.
