The key to the maintenance of circulating water vacuum pumps lies in careful daily operation and regular deep cleaning. The core is to maintain clean water quality, prevent backflow, ensure sealing, and take seasonal protection measures.
1. Daily maintenance is the foundation. After each use, it is necessary to empty the water tank to avoid the growth of algae or the deposition of scale. It is recommended to use distilled water or deionized water. Clean the surface of the pump body with a damp cloth to prevent dust from blocking the heat dissipation holes. Check whether the connecting hose is aged or cracked, and whether the sealing ring at the interface is intact. If necessary, apply vacuum grease to enhance the sealing performance.
2. Deep cleaning is required every week. Dissolve scale by circulating 5% citric acid solution or white vinegar for 10 minutes. For stubborn scale, gently brush the impeller surface with a soft bristled brush (metal brush is prohibited). Check if the impeller is corroded or stuck with foreign objects, remove and clean it. Add high-speed grease to the bearings every 3 months, and lubricate them in advance if the noise increases.
3. Conduct monthly anti-corrosion and system inspections. If acidic gas has been extracted, neutralize it with a 1% sodium bicarbonate solution and then rinse it. Remove the sealing ring (O-ring) and apply a small amount of silicone grease to prevent hardening. Run the pump without load and record the time required to reach the nominal vacuum level. If there is a significant delay, check for air leaks or impeller wear.
4. Seasonal maintenance cannot be ignored. Add 20% ethylene glycol or specialized antifreeze to the water tank in winter to prevent freezing and cracking of the pump body; If not in use for a long time, empty the water tank and place it in an environment above 5 ℃. During the high temperature season, pay attention to cleaning the dust on the cooling fan to ensure good ventilation. The recommended ambient temperature is ≤ 30 ℃. Avoid continuous operation and shut down for 30 minutes every 4 hours.
5. Thoroughly maintain before long-term discontinuation. Drain the water tank and pipelines, dry the impeller and pump chamber with compressed air, and store them in a dry environment with a dust cover. In addition, it is necessary to connect a buffer bottle in series between the vacuum pump and the experimental device, and use a check valve for mechanical protection to effectively prevent backflow.
