1、 Overview of alcohol precipitation tank

Alcohol precipitation tanks are used for alcohol precipitation in traditional Chinese medicine, oral liquids, food and health products, etc. The alcohol precipitation tank is a key equipment in the alcohol precipitation process. It is also applicable to the freezing or room temperature precipitation, solid-liquid phase separation process of suspensions in other industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food, oral liquids, health products, dyes, etc.

2、 Working principle of alcohol precipitation tank

This equipment belongs to the sedimentation solid-liquid phase separation equipment. To remove non alcohol soluble starch, protein, etc., the concentrated solution of traditional Chinese medicine decoction is prepared by adding alcohol to form a liquid with a certain alcohol content, and then solid-liquid separation is carried out at room temperature, preferably low-temperature freezing sedimentation, to improve the alcohol content and clarity of the traditional Chinese medicine extract, thereby improving product quality.

Concentrate and alcohol according to the process requirements, add their respective proportions and turn on frozen salt water or cooling water. Stir and mix evenly until the required temperature of the material is reached. Stop stirring and continue to introduce frozen salt water or cooling water into the jacket to ensure the required liquid temperature. After the sedimentation is completed, open the supernatant discharge valve and use a self-priming pump to extract the supernatant. Due to the installation of a floating ball type liquid outlet, the liquid level gradually decreases with the supernatant, and the floating ball also decreases with the liquid level. After the supernatant is fully extracted, as the density of the turbid liquid is much higher than that of the supernatant, the floating ball floats on the surface of the sediment and does not further descend, and the liquid outlet automatically stops discharging. At this point, the slag outlet can be opened to discharge the sediment. According to the different materials, the precipitation substances are different. You can first open the bottom butterfly valve to release the dilute material. For some sediments that may clump and cause poor slag discharge, heating steam can be introduced into the sediment to soften it and discharge the slag. Clean the inner wall of the tank with water after the sediment has been drained, and close the butterfly valve.

If there is a large amount of liquid to be processed at once and the capacity of one alcohol settling tank is insufficient to complete the corresponding work, one or more static tanks can be equipped. After stirring the alcohol and concentrated medicine in the alcohol settling tank according to the process, they are sucked into the settling tank by a self-priming pump. The static tank also has a jacket and a floating ball type liquid outlet, which can cool, precipitate and discharge the mixed liquid.

Tip: Using one mixing tank to configure multiple static tanks not only saves energy but also reduces investment. Due to the short mixing time and long static time of the alcohol precipitation process, the mixer is mostly idle for most of the time.
