Overview

The three blade Roots vacuum pump uses two three blade rotors to maintain a certain gap with the pump chamber. A pair of synchronous reverse rotating gears are used to prevent the two rotors from contacting each other and maintain a certain gap when rotating inside the pump chamber. The schematic diagram on the right shows the structure of the pump. From Figure I to IV, the rotor rotates in the pump chamber and completes a suction and exhaust process.

Application of Three Leaf Roots Vacuum PumpScope:

The advantage of Roots vacuum pump is that it still has a high pumping rate at lower inlet pressures, but Roots vacuum pump cannot be used alone and must be used in conjunction with the preceding vacuum pump. The Roots vacuum pump can only be started when the current level vacuum pump draws the system pressure to the allowable starting pressure of the Roots vacuum pump. According to different working pressures and process conditions, the front-end vacuum pump of Roots vacuum pump can adopt oil sealed mechanical vacuum pump, liquid ring vacuum pump, reciprocating vacuum pump, etc. The maximum pressure that can be achieved by Roots vacuum pumps after configuring different types of front-end vacuum pumps varies. Roots vacuum pump can be widely used in any vacuum system that requires high pumping speed and medium vacuum (10-1-10-2Pa), such as vacuum coating, vacuum welding furnace, vacuum heat treatment furnace, large-scale space simulation test, lamp and bulb manufacturing, laser manufacturing, vacuum packaging equipment, automobile manufacturing, centralized vacuum pumping system, various chemical processes, vacuum degassing, vacuum dehydration, vacuum freeze-drying, vacuum distillation.

  • Improvement of sealing structure
    1. The improvement of the sealing between the fuel tank cap and the end cap. Previously, the old two blade Roots vacuum pump used vacuum sealant for end face sealing, which was difficult to use and required quick installation, otherwise it would not work if it dried out; Now we use O-ring seals for all end face seals, which is easy to install; 2. The bearing chamber of Roots pumps is generally cooled and lubricated with lubricating oil. If this part of the pump oil is emulsified, it must be replaced with new oil immediately, otherwise it will cause corrosion of the bearings and increase the vibration and noise of the pump. If the bearings are not replaced in time, it will aggravate the wear of the gears and cause damage to the entire pump.
    In response to the old problem of oil emulsification in Roots vacuum pumps when used with water ring vacuum pumps to remove large amounts of water vapor and organic solvents, our company has made important improvements to the sealing structure of the pump chamber: all four piston ring seals in the pump chamber have been replaced with mechanical seals, thus solving the problem of oil emulsification in Roots pumps. This sealing structure has been fully validated after years of use.
  • Surface treatment inside the pump chamber
    When a Roots vacuum pump is used to remove a large amount of water vapor and chemical solvents, the rotor surface and pump chamber surface are prone to rusting. It is common for the Roots pump to rust and fail to operate after a few days of testing without use; After a long period of disuse, the pump may rust when restarted; Or after prolonged use, it may be discovered that the rotor and pump chamber have corroded, affecting the performance of the pump.
    In response to the above phenomenon, our company has plated the rotors and inner walls of all Roots vacuum pumps with nickel phosphorus alloy or polytetrafluoroethylene. Polytetrafluoroethylene coating can be used for pumping large amounts of steam, condensable gases, or very clean pharmaceutical industries; Nickel phosphorus alloy plating is suitable for complex working conditions. The pumped medium is not only corrosive, but may also crystallize or some materials may enter the Roots vacuum pump;
  • Improvement of rotor profile
    The meshing clearance between rotors is the most significant factor affecting the performance of Roots vacuum pumps. The meshing clearance between the rotors of Roots vacuum pumps should be uniform and minimized while ensuring stable pump operation. Due to the deviation between the theoretical profile of the Roots rotor and the actual machined profile, our company's engineers have made multiple corrections to produce a more uniform rotor profile, thereby fully ensuring the performance of the pump. After comparative testing, the performance of the product improved by the molding line can be comparable to imported products.
  • All castings are made of metal models and resin sand molds. The surface quality of the castings is good and does not require oiling. They can be directly painted, which is more conducive to the heat dissipation of the pump;
  • All bearings are used to ensure the stability and service life of the pump operation.
  • All gears are made of national standard grade 6 or above, and all gears are quenched at high frequency and ground by a gear grinding machine to ensure stable operation and low noise of the Roots pump.
  • The surface of the pump is coated with epoxy paint, which is resistant to acid and alkali, high temperature, and long-lasting without discoloration.
