Working principle of box dryer

There are significant differences in the structure between box dryers and drum dryers, so their working principles are also very different. Let's learn together how box dryers complete the drying task of materials.
The heat source used in the box dryer is either pure hot air provided by the hot air stove or pure hot air generated by heating with an electric heating tube. The temperature of the hot air can be adjusted and controlled. After the hot air enters the dryer, the high-temperature and high humidity axial flow fan inside the box penetrates the material and circulates it. The circulating wind direction is automatically controlled by the instrument to rotate forward and backward, and the time can be set arbitrarily. Generally, the wind direction is switched once every 30 minutes or more, and the moisture is naturally discharged through the louvered type moisture outlet in the middle of the dryer. This way, the materials on each layer can be evenly and quickly dried.

A box type dryer is mainly composed of four parts: the head, drying section, tail, and inlet duct. Each structural component plays an indispensable role in the drying process.
1. Head: The box dryer head consists of two passive rollers, a tensioning device, and inlet and outlet ports. The passive roller bears the tension of the mesh belt and determines the tightness of the mesh belt. Therefore, the UCT316 bearings at both ends of the passive roller need to be regularly lubricated with high-temperature (above 200% d) grease to ensure the normal operation of the equipment. Tensioning device (is used to adjust the tension of the mesh belt. The mesh belt should be tightened at the beginning of installation, and needs to be adjusted again after heating up (due to thermal expansion). When adjusting, be sure to keep the tension on both sides of the mesh belt as consistent as possible to avoid pulling off and causing chain breakage. The elasticity of the mesh belt depends on the amount of material, and generally moderate elasticity is sufficient. Rotate the screw clockwise to adjust its tension, and vice versa.
The box dryer is completely enclosed, so all working doors and observation doors on the machine head and tail are normally sealed. If you need to open the door, for safety reasons, please make sure to turn off the fan first.
2. Drying section: The drying section of the box dryer is the actual working area for drying materials. The inlet and outlet ducts are installed on top of it, and hot air enters the lower part of the inner cavity from both sides, and then moves upward from the middle to the outside of the cavity where the fan is drawn out. The top inlet and outlet are equipped with regulating valves to adjust the air flow. When adjusting, the first section connected to the machine head should have less air intake (because the newly inserted ball contains a lot of moisture and will crack when suddenly exposed to high temperature), and then gradually increase to fully open after the third section. After repeated experiments to determine the air volume of each part, the regulating valve does not need to be adjusted frequently.
3. Tail: The tightness of the transmission chain of the box dryer can be adjusted by adjusting the position of the reducer. The transmission gear on the other side of the reducer should also be regularly lubricated to extend its service life. Before starting up, inject an appropriate amount of lubricating oil into the gearbox (please refer to the gearbox manual), and regularly check the oil level in the future. Please refer to the speed control motor manual for adjusting the speed of the speed control motor.
4. Inlet duct: The hot air of the box dryer is transmitted through the inlet duct, and the joints between each section of the inlet duct are sealed. In addition, in order to avoid heat loss, it is very necessary to keep the inlet duct insulated in winter (it is recommended that the insulation layer should not be less than 40 thick for both the main and branch pipelines). In order to prevent deformation of the pipeline due to heat, active sockets are installed at 8 positions of the pipeline and sealed with asbestos ropes. If the equipment runs for a long time, the sealing material of the active sockets will wear or age. If air leakage is found, the sealing material should be replaced in a timely manner.

Maintenance and upkeep of box dryer
The maintenance and upkeep of the box dryer is very important and must be taken seriously by every customer. Regular maintenance and upkeep of the box dryer can nip its faults in the bud, reduce its failure rate, and extend its service life. 1. Before each shift of the box dryer, the valve and pipeline should be checked for leaks.
2. The rotating friction parts of the box dryer should be lubricated regularly.
3. Check if the grounding wires of each fan and electrical control box of the box dryer are reliable.
4. Check whether the various instruments and meters of the box dryer are indicating normally, and regularly verify them with the metrology department.
5. Check for vibration, cracks, damage, and corrosion on the cylinder of the box dryer.
6. After the trial operation of the box dryer, it is necessary to regularly maintain whether each motor is working properly.
7. Check for any looseness or abnormal noise in the components and fastening parts of the box dryer, and promptly troubleshoot any faults found.
8. Check whether the triangular belt, chain and other transmission devices of the box dryer are deformed, loose and worn, and adjust the tightness of the chain in a timely manner.
9. Check the electrical safety of the box dryer, and ensure that the start and stop devices are sensitive, accurate, and reliable.
