Classification of Traditional Chinese Medicine Pill Making Machines: Why Do We Need Different Machines?

Not all pills are made using the same method. According to the different excipients and preparation processes used, they are mainly divided into the following categories, which directly determine the type of equipment required:

Water pills: made by using water or yellow wine, vinegar, medicinal juice, etc. as binders, through the "pan making" method. Features: Small size, dense surface, easy to swallow.

Honey pills: Made from refined honey as a binder, using the "shaping" method of "combining lumps, rolling strips, and forming pills". Characteristics: The pills are smooth, moisturizing, soft, and have long-lasting effects, making them a commonly used dosage form for nourishing drugs.

Concentrated pill: A pill made by extracting a portion of medicinal herbs into a paste and mixing it with another portion of fine powder of medicinal herbs (water or honey can be used as a binder). Features: Small size, high effective content, easy to take.

Dripping pill: a modern pill that utilizes solid dispersion technology to highly disperse the drug in the matrix, shrink and condense into pills in liquid paraffin or other condensates. Features: Fast onset and high bioavailability.

Among them, water pills and honey pills are the two main types, and their preparation principles are completely different, so machines are also divided into two major technical schools.

1、 Equipment features:

1. This machine is made up of two parts: strip making and pill making. It has a box structure with horizontal strip making, simple structure, easy operation, and convenient maintenance.

The rolling and cutting mechanisms of the pill making part are installed in a gearbox, with good lubrication conditions for the components. The cutting speed can be adjusted through the knob of the continuously variable transmission, allowing the rolling cutter to achieve a speed of 6-30 revolutions per minute until the cutting speed matches the strip speed.

3. The feeding port is large, and the pressure plate flips and presses the material, which is convenient for filling and can prevent material breakage. The hopper is divided into upper and lower parts with a replica shaft as the boundary, and can be opened when it is clear, which is very convenient

4. Drip the medicine strip with alcohol, and the outside of the pill making knife is equipped with a brush to prevent sticking of the knife. The alcohol is stored in the square box of the dispensing mechanism, and the amount of alcohol is adjusted through a ball valve.

5. The grinding pill discharge plate has increased its depth and width, eliminating the problem of pill leakage and retention

6. The gearbox reduces the number of tension wheels, eliminating the problem of chain detachment caused by tension wheels, facilitating the disassembly and assembly of chains, and saving labor.

7. The original motor reducer has been replaced with a cycloidal pinwheel integrated machine, reducing noise during equipment operation and ensuring stable power.
