Overview
The hollow mixing shaft of DC type equipment is equipped with multiple sets of hollow discs (or disks) for heat transfer. The discs are arranged in a spiral shape, and T-shaped blades are installed at the top of all discs. The gap between the blade tip and the inner wall of the circular cylinder is very small. This scraping wall structure prevents viscous materials from sticking to the surface of the cylinder and improves heat transfer capacity. At the same time, the inner wall of the cylinder is equipped with many hooks and claws that interpenetrate with the T-shaped blades, forming an engaging structure that can prevent materials from sticking to the T-shaped blades and effectively break up clumped materials.

DC type horizontal single axis self-cleaning stirring reactor

The hollow mixing shaft of DC type equipment is equipped with multiple sets of hollow discs (or disks) for heat transfer. The discs are arranged in a spiral shape, and T-shaped blades are installed at the top of all discs. The gap between the blade tip and the inner wall of the circular cylinder is very small. This scraping wall structure prevents viscous materials from sticking to the surface of the cylinder and improves heat transfer capacity. At the same time, the inner wall of the cylinder is equipped with many hooks and claws that interpenetrate with the T-shaped blades, forming an engaging structure that can prevent materials from sticking to the T-shaped blades and effectively break up clumped materials.

The loading coefficient of DC type equipment is 60%~80%, the ZUI high torque can reach 200000 Nm, and the operating speed is generally within the range of 5-40 rpm, which is related to the equipment volume, physical properties, operation mode, operation stage, etc. During intermittent operation, the volume of DC type equipment ranges from 100L to 8000L, corresponding to a total heat transfer area of 2.2 m2~50 m2; When operated continuously, the volume of DC type equipment also ranges from 100L to 8000L. Due to the thinner and longer equipment, the corresponding total heat transfer area increases to 3.5 m2~80 m2.

The axial conveying capacity of screw type equipment is related to the rotational speed, while in contrast, the axial conveying capacity of DC type equipment is independent of the rotational speed. The disc and T-shaped blades are arranged in a spiral shape, only to enable the blades to overcome the large resistance of ZUI in sequence and reduce ZUIHigh torque. This feature allows the average loading coefficient to be adjusted using an overflow plate, while increasing the rotational speed for better quality and heat transfer. The disc component limits backmixing, so even if the average residence time reaches several hours, a narrow residence time distribution can still be obtained.

The flexibility of operating DC type equipment enables it to complete the process of feeding liquid into powder products within the same device. A typical application is shown in Figure 1, which is a two-step process carried out in a DC type reactor: the first step is to evaporate the solvent that dissolves the pharmaceutical intermediate under vacuum conditions to turn the intermediate into a powder; Step 2 is to add another solvent and dissolve before discharging. DC type equipment is suitable for changing the blade structure and is also used in the defoaming process of polymers. A typical application is the defoaming of PAN based carbon fiber raw materials.
