Installation and precautions of electric heating strip for magnetic flap level gauge:
In the cold winter, especially in the north, magnetic flap level gauges usually require heat tracing and insulation in practical applications to prevent the liquid inside the tube from freezing and ensure the normal operation of the instrument.
There are various insulation methods available for heat tracing, including steam, hot water tracing, and electric tracing. However, due to the characteristics of simple structure, convenient use, high thermal efficiency, safety and reliability, no environmental pollution, long service life, and low maintenance workload of electric tracing systems, electric tracing technology is gradually replacing traditional insulation methods such as steam and hot water tracing and is widely adopted.
As an advanced heat tracing system, the normal operation of electric heat tracing depends not only on the scientific rationality of product quality and selection design, but also on the correct installation method of the product. Below, we will focus on introducing the installation and precautions of the electric heating belt for the magnetic flap level gauge.
1、 Installation of electric heating strip for magnetic flap level gauge
Heat tracing and insulation are generally carried out by using electric heat tracing strips tied to the surface of pipelines to ensure that the liquid medium works at a certain temperature, so that the liquid level measurement of easily solidified and high viscosity liquid media can be carried out normally. The installation methods of electric heat tracing belts generally include spiral winding method and parallel laying method.
The magnetic flap level gauge electric heating belt is mainly divided into single electric heating belt and multiple electric heating belts. The float of the magnetic flap level gauge is bound with a magnetic flap and a display panel assembly. The magnetic flap is flipped through the magnetic coupling of the magnetic float inside the float. In order to prevent the display panel from being far away from the float and affecting the flipping of the magnetic flap, the heat tracing insulation of the magnetic flap level gauge generally adopts a self controlled temperature electric heat tracing belt, and adopts parallel laying and multiple electric heat tracing belts to avoid installing the display panel without affecting the heat tracing effect.
2、 Precautions for installation of electric heating strip for magnetic flap level gauge
Generally speaking, there are several precautions to be taken during the installation of the magnetic flap level gauge electric heating belt, including the following:
1. When carrying out construction operations, the electric heat tracing strip is wired from one end of the float to the tail end, and then turned back to the starting point for parallel laying, and the spacing between each heat tracing strip is not less than twice the bandwidth.
2. During installation, twisting should be minimized as much as possible, and the bending radius should not be less than 5 times the thickness of the electric heating belt. Generally, the electric heating belt should be fixed to the main pipe with glass fiber pressure-sensitive tape or aluminum foil tape every 50cm to ensure that the electric heating belt is closely attached to the float and improve thermal conductivity efficiency.
3. It is strictly prohibited to tie with iron wire or plastic wire. One end of the cable in the heat tracing zone is connected to the power box, and the tail end needs to be tightly sealed with a matching head. It is strictly prohibited to twist the two cables at the tail end.
4. The power cord should use a three core cable, with one core serving as the grounding and heat tracing shielding layer, and connected to the grounding terminal at the same time. The internal and external grounding bolts must be firm and reliable.
5. After the installation of the electric heat tracing belt, an additional insulation layer should be added to its outer surface. The insulation layer should be wrapped tightly with aluminum foil tape to reduce heat loss and improve the effectiveness of the electric heat tracing.
