Overview

The Coulomb Galvano Test 3000 from Elektrophysik, a German company, applies the principle of Coulomb coulometric analysis. The process is similar to electroplating, but the direction of the electrochemical reaction is opposite, which is electrolytic plating. It can be used to measure the thickness of electroplating layers on almost all substrates. The substrate includes steel, non-ferrous metals, and insulation materials. For example, iron tweezers, zinc on iron, silver on copper, copper on epoxy resin, etc. During measurement, only a small area of the coating metal that is almost invisible needs to be removed, without affecting the substrate.

Product Description

The Coulomb Galvano Test 3000 from Elektrophysik, a German company, applies the principle of Coulomb coulometric analysis. The process is similar to electroplating, but the direction of the electrochemical reaction is opposite, which is electrolytic plating. It can be used to measure the thickness of electroplating layers on almost all substrates. The substrate includes steel, non-ferrous metals, and insulation materials. For example, iron tweezers, zinc on iron, silver on copper, copper on epoxy resin, etc.During measurement, only a small area of the coating metal that is almost invisible needs to be removed, without affecting the substrate. The Coulomb method ensures accurate and reliable measurement results, and the instrument is easy to use. The measurement operation is autonomously completed by the instructions of the instrument, and the operator does not require professional knowledge. The Coulomb method is the only method that can measure composite coatings and multi-layer coatings. For example, measuring the sequential deposition of copper, tweezers, chromium, etc. on iron.GALVANOTEST3000 ensures the safety and reliability of all measurement and statistical data, and can print data and voltage characteristic curves.

GALVANOTEST3000Structural description

The GalvanoTest 3000 Coulombic Thickness Gauge consists of three main parts:

1. Measuring cup

------Depending on the instrument model, the electrolyte is driven by an air pump or a circulating pump and flows in the measuring cup to ensure smooth plating removal in the measurement area and maximize the utilization of the electrolyte.

For wires or small parts, electrolytic cups can also be used to immerse them in the electrolyte during measurement.

2. Bracket

------Fix the tested sample with a bracket and accurately position the measuring cup and the tested sample. The circulating pump is connected to the bracket and thickness gauge.

3. Instrument

------The thickness gauge controlled by a microprocessor can measure various coating thicknesses.Use the keyboard of the instrument to adjust it and complete various measurement tasks.

GAdvantages of alvanoTest 3000:

GalvanoTest 3000 provides additional measurement convenience.

Its measuring platform is equipped with an integrated electrolyte pump, making it easy to replace measuring components for automatic removal and refilling of electrolyte, thus saving electrolyte as a filling material can be used for a large number of electroplating processes.

Additional measurement units can be purchased to accommodate different electrolyte solutions for rapid conversion in multi-layer applicationsChange.

Further advantages of the 3000 model: even spots as small as 25 square millimeters and gold layers can be easily measured without any problems.

Measurement principle of GALVANOTEST 3000 Coulomb coating thickness gauge

Measure according to Faraday's principle. The process is similar to electroplating, but the direction of the chemical reaction is exactly the opposite, which is electrolytic plating.

According to the combination of coating/substrate, select the electrolyte to be injected into the electrolytic cell. Place the electrolyte on the test sample.

A sealing gasket is embedded between the electrolytic cell and the tested sample, which serves to determine the measurement area, such as 1mm2, and to prevent electrolyte leakage.

Electric current passes through the electrolyte and produces electrochemical reactions over a certain area. The thickness of the coating is directly displayed on the digital monitor.
