Food balling machine, as the name suggests, is an automated equipment that mechanically produces spherical or quasi spherical particles from mixed paste, paste, or semi-solid food raw materials. Its core mission is to replace inefficient and unhygienic manual pill rolling, and achieve standardized, large-scale, and high-efficiency continuous production.

Although there are various types of ball making machines on the market, their basic working principle can be summarized as three core steps: extrusion → cutting → rounding.

Extrusion

The mixed materials (such as sesame powder mixed with honey, minced meat, chocolate syrup, etc.) are fed into a hopper.

The internal screw propeller of the equipment (similar to the principle of a meat grinder) rotates under the drive of a motor, pushing and compressing the material forward, increasing its density and consistency.

The compressed material is ultimately forced to pass through a template (mold) with many circular mold holes at the front end.

Cutting

When the strip-shaped material is uniformly extruded from the mold hole, the cutting blade installed in front of the template will rotate or reciprocate at a constant speed.

The cutter accurately cuts the extruded strip material into cylindrical or olive shaped small sections of uniform size. The speed of the cutter is a key parameter determining the weight of the meatballs: the faster the speed, the shorter the cut section and the smaller the meatballs; Vice versa.

Rounding

The cut material segments will fall into a 'rounding device'. This is the key step in molding, and there are two common ways:

Rubbing disc (drum) type: The material section falls between two rubbing discs with shallow pits and relative rotation. Under the action of friction and centrifugal force, the material segment is rolled and polished in the pit, gradually forming a sphere.

Vibration screen type: The material section is thrown onto an inclined vibration screen, and through high-frequency vibration, the material sections collide and roll with each other, naturally forming spherical balls. This method has less impact and is suitable for softer products.

This process is continuous, thus achieving automated assembly line production from raw materials to balls.
