1、 Overview of oil flow meter:

2. Characteristics of elliptical gear flowmeter
Flow measurement is independent of the flow state of the fluid, as the elliptical gear flowmeter relies on the pressure head of the measured medium to drive the elliptical gear to rotate for measurement. The higher the viscosity of the medium, the smaller the amount of leakage from the gear and measuring space gap. Therefore, the larger the viscosity of the measured medium, the smaller the leakage error, and the more advantageous it is for measurement. The elliptical gear flowmeter has high measurement accuracy and is suitable for measuring the flow rate of high viscosity media, but it is not suitable for fluids containing solid particles (solid particles can jam the gear, making it impossible to measure the flow rate). If gas is mixed in the measured liquid medium, it can also cause measurement errors. Elliptical gear flowmeter is a type of volumetric flowmeter used for precise continuous or intermittent measurement of liquid flow or instantaneous flow in pipelines. It is particularly suitable for flow measurement of high viscosity media such as heavy oil, polyvinyl alcohol, resin, etc.
3、 Working principle
The working principle of the elliptical gear flowmeter is that the measuring part of the elliptical gear flowmeter is mainly composed of two meshing elliptical gears and their housing (measuring chamber), as shown in the following figure:

4、 Installation and use precautions of elliptical gear flowmeter
The elliptical gear flowmeter should be cleaned before installation. If the liquid contains solid particles, a filter must be installed upstream of the pipeline; If it contains gas, an exhaust device should be installed. The elliptical gear flowmeter does not have certain requirements for the front and rear straight pipe sections. It can be installed horizontally or vertically. During installation, the elliptical gear rotation axis of the flowmeter should be parallel to the ground.
Installment and use
1. The installation direction of the instrument should be consistent with the direction of the arrow on the instrument housing and the direction of liquid flow. The installation position should be easy to read (see the figure below)
2. Instruments should be installed at room temperature as much as possible, and should not be installed in environments with harmful gases or strong thermal radiation to prevent damage to the counter part of the instrument.
3. The elliptical gear shaft in the instrument should be installed in a horizontal position as much as possible, that is, the dial should be installed in a vertical position (division "0") and should be on top to reduce friction between the elliptical gear and the housing and reduce wear of the parts. Due to different installation positions, in order to facilitate reading, the counter (meter head) can be rotated 90 ° or 180 ° (see the figure below).
4. Before installing the instrument, the pipeline must be thoroughly cleaned. In the entire pipeline system, if there is no strict filtering device, a filter should be installed in front of the instrument to prevent impurities from entering the instrument.
5. The instrument should be installed at the outlet end of the pump, and the flow control valve should be installed downstream of the instrument. When using, first open the upstream shut-off valve, and then slowly open the downstream flow control or shut-off valve. Sudden opening or closing is strictly prohibited.
The elliptical gear flowmeter installed correctly according to the requirements can ensure sufficient accuracy during use, and the accuracy of the cumulative value can usually reach level 0.5, making it a relatively accurate flow measuring instrument. However, if the flow rate of the measured medium is too low during use, the impact of instrument leakage errors will become prominent, and sufficient measurement accuracy cannot be guaranteed. Therefore, different models and specifications of elliptical gear flow meters have an allowable value for small flow rates, and measurement accuracy can only be guaranteed when the actual measured flow rate is greater than the lower limit flow rate allowable value. Secondly, when using an elliptical gear flowmeter, it is important to note that the temperature of the measured medium should not be too high, otherwise it will not only increase measurement errors but also have the potential to cause gear jamming. Therefore, the elliptical gear flowmeter is used within the specified temperature range of the instrument. After long-term use, the internal gears of the elliptical gear flowmeter will be corroded and worn, which will affect the measurement accuracy. Therefore, it is important to regularly observe and dismantle for inspection. If conditions permit, calibration should be carried out regularly.
2、 Measurement principle of oil flow meter

Under the action of the pressure difference between the liquid at the inlet and outlet of the flowmeter measurement chamber, a pair of elliptical gears continuously rotate on the bearings and discharge the liquid. By measuring the number of revolutions of the elliptical gears, the total value of the liquid flowing through the instrument can be determined. If the volume Q discharged after one revolution of the elliptical gear and the number of rotations of the elliptical gear per unit time is N, then the volume of liquid flowing through during that time is NQ.

1、 Function
1.1 Display Function
Accumulated flow and instantaneous flow.
1.2 Operation
Press the "" and "F" keys simultaneously to display the dot coefficient on the LCD screen. (10% flow coefficient), then press the "F" key in sequence, and the LCD displays 2, 3, and 4. Among them, 2 is the 50% flow coefficient, 3 is the 100% flow coefficient, and 4 is the 4-20mA * * large flow rate.
1.3 Coefficient per point of LCD display
The upper line represents the number of pulses per second at that point, while the lower line represents the number of pulses per cubic meter at that point.
1.4 Power Supply
The on-site indication is 3.6V, explosion-proof lithium battery. Remote transmission 24V (4-20mA) lead out wiring.
Red is a positive number, blue is a negative number.
2、 Instructions for using electronic meter heads (integrators).
2.1 "" is the displacement key, "" is the set key.
2.2 Press the "+F" key to clear the accumulation (reset).
2.3 Set the coefficient to 1-4, then press the "" and "F" keys to reset.

3、 Common faults
3.1 LCD: Instantaneous and cumulative display but not moving:
a) Card meter, flow meter needs to be cleaned.
b) The calculator crashes, power off and restart. This situation is rare.
3.2 LCD not displaying: power disconnected.
3.3 Suddenly, the error is too large and the impeller is damaged. The impeller needs to be replaced (which can be purchased from the manufacturer).
