working principle
The measurement principle of radar is Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW). FMCW radar emits high-frequency signals, and within its measurement domain, the frequency of the radar wave increases linearly (known as sweep frequency). The radar wave signal emitted by the antenna is reflected by the surface of the medium, and after a period of time t, it is received by the antenna. The time difference t=2d/c, where d represents the distance between the radar and the surface of the medium, and c is the propagation speed of the radar wave above the surface of the medium, i.e. the speed of light. Perform signal processing by comparing the difference Δ f between the actual transmission frequency and reception frequency. The frequency difference is proportional to the distance. The larger the frequency difference, the greater the distance, and vice versa. By calculating the difference between the tank height value and the measured distance, the height of the material level can be determined.
